Abstract:
A method is disclosed for remote monitoring of a premises, comprising the steps of operatively coupling a geographically remote client to a security system server which is capable of authenticating a user of the remote client, operatively coupling the remote client to a security gateway which is capable of managing the monitoring of the premises, activating a signal at the premises for notifying an occupant at the premises that remote monitoring is occurring, and transferring information between the security gateway and the remote client. The transfer of information between the security gateway and the remote client is controlled by the user of the remote client. The security gateway may be operably coupled to at least one camera at the premises and to at least one audio station at the premises.
Abstract:
A radio remote control according to the invention is used to control at least one first vehicle function that is relevant for functional safety, and also used to control further vehicle functions not related to functional safety. The remote control comprises input means for the user selection of vehicle functions and for obtaining a user input corresponding to the selected vehicle function. The remote control according to the invention additionally comprises a security device for safeguarding the first vehicle function. The security device itself comprises a security input means, which must be actuated for the first vehicle function to be carried out. The security device moreover comprises a security circuit that is coupled to the security input means and includes security information. The remote control is configured in such a way that, in the case of a user input that is associated with the first vehicle function, the security information is only used to generate transmission data that causes the first vehicle function to be carried out if the security input means was actuated.
Abstract:
According to a related remote control system, a remote control processing may occur even during an operated side terminal is in an emergency situation. An operated side terminal transmits, to a relay server, reception status information identifying a reception status for a remote control. Upon receiving a remote control request from an operating side terminal, the relay server determines whether or not a remote control is permitted based on access permission information which includes a pair of an operating side terminal permitted to remote control and an operated side terminal, and additionally, determines, based on reception status information, whether or not the operated side terminal currently accepts the remote control. Based on the determination outcomes, the relay server transmits, to the operated side terminal, a control message related to the remote control, based on which the operated side terminal provides a service.
Abstract:
This disclosure concerns a wireless communication system adapted to establish a feedback protocol between a handheld remote control and at least an adjustable bed controller, the handheld remote control having a memory position user interface adapted to initiate a transmission of a position recall command from the handheld remote control to an adjustable bed controller using the feedback protocol to adjust a position of a bed segment to a preset position from within a predetermined range of acceptable positions stored in memory. The adjustable bed controller is adapted to initiate a communication from the adjustable bed controller to the handheld remote to indicate that the adjustable bed controller has responded to the position recall command.

Abstract:
The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.

Abstract:
A method for remote monitoring of a premises. A geographically remote client is operatively coupled to a security system server capable of authenticating a user of the remote client. The remote client is then operably coupled to a security gateway capable of managing the monitoring of the premises, activating a signal at the premises for notifying an occupant at the premises that remote monitoring is occurring, and transferring information between the security gateway and the remote client. The transfer of information between the security gateway and the remote client is controlled by the user of the remote client. The security gateway may be operably coupled to at last one camera at the premises and to at least one audio station at the premises.

The notification signal may comprise an audible signal or a visible signal or both. An audible notification signal may comprise a sound uniquely associated with the remote user, and can comprise speech, which may identify the remote user. A visible notification signal may comprise a depiction of the remote user, or a graphical image, or an alphanumeric message, which may identify the remote user, and which may be transmitted to a keypad at the premises. The visible notification signal may be transmitted to a display device, such as a television. The visible notification signal may further comprise an activation signal for a light source at the premises, such as a light emitting diode (LED). The LED may be located on a camera or on a keypad, for example.
