    摘要: A clocked power supply is proposed which contains a fault current detection means (32) which evaluates a voltage drop occurring at an ohmic measuring resistor (25), and emits a switch-off signal (40) to a clocked voltage converter (5). The ohmic measuring resistor (25) is arranged in a line (24) of the clocked voltage converter (5) in which the alternating operating current of the clocked voltage converter (5) flows, the frequency of which alternating operating current is equal to the frequency of a switching signal (23) with which a circuit breaker (16) is operated. In order to suppress the portion of the voltage drop which can be tapped at the ohmic measuring resistor (25) and whose frequency corresponds to that of the switching signal (23), means, for example a low pass filter (33) and/or a parallel capacitor (26) which bridges the ohmic measuring resistor (25) are provided. The clocked power supply according to the invention is particularly suitable for operating gas discharge lamps (7) which are installed for example in motor vehicles, an effective protection of persons (30) against inadvertent contact with live components being provided.

    摘要: An electrical safety apparatus arranged to be connected between an electrical power source and a load to provide protection against electric shock due to, for example, the insertion of probes or needles into a potentially live socket by a child, and against shock form exposed conductors (e.g. the severed cable of an electrical appliance) connected to the power source. When the apparatus is connected to an electrical power source and then connected to a load, the apparatus first applies a low test voltage or test current to determine that the impedance of the load is within a safe range which excludes that of the human body, before connecting the load to the normal electrical power supply or mains. After the apparatus has been connected to a load of suitable impedance the apparatus monitors the power drawn by the load so that should the impedance of the load change to an unsafe value during operation of an electrical appliance (e.g. due to the power lead to the appliance being severed) the apparatus operates to disconnect the load from the electrical power source.

    摘要: This electric field proximity detector enables a worker to detect the presence of a dangerous power line or other electrical source and to then maintain a safe separation from it. A power line need not carry any current as a condition for detection since the device operates on the electric field about the conductor. Response to spurious radiation is eliminated, a sensitivity control is provided to permit setting the device to respond to various fixed combinations of field strength and distance from power lines, a threshold circuit will mark the boundary of safe operation within very narrow limits once the device is adjusted for a particular set of conditions; and a self-testing feature permits the operator to determine the working condition of the device. This miniaturized device contains its own power supply and loudspeaker, making for easy installation on cranes, aerial personnel baskets, and other types of lifting and construction equipment which may be used near power lines. The alarm circuit may also be used to activate other electrical circuits causing machinery to shut down when the alarm is activated. This device may also be used as a test instrument to detect energized lines and sources.

The power connection circuitry comprises a switchable power connection path between a source side and a load side.
