Abstract:
Machining coolant/lubricant is used to operate a piston of a clamping-side coupler by feeding same via a coolant feed passage to a clamping pressure chamber through a first check valve and a clamping pressure fluid passage. The same coolant/lubricant is discharged from an unclamping pressure chamber through an unclamping pressure fluid passage and a second check valve. The resulting movement of the piston downwards brings a clamp member into contact with a workpiece to thereby clamp the workpiece on a table. Thus, a dedicated pressure source for clamping can be dispensed with.
Abstract:
For introducing a weakened line into a component 10, which is rigid per se and does not conform to a supporting mold or a receiving means in correspondence with the true shape, especially into an injection-molded part such as an instrument panel of an automobile, a device is provided comprising a multi-axis machine tool with a CNC-control suited for processing base-oriented programs, and a receiving means 11 for the component 10 to be processed, distance sensors 13 for the CNC-control being assigned to the receiving means to detect the actual three-dimensional position of the component.
Abstract:
A circuit board router (10) and method thereof. De-paneling of printed circuit boards (62) off a panel 860) is efficiently increased by a router (40) which is positioned at a location above the panel (60). A fixture positions the panel 860) below the router (40) on a base (16). A controller (64) activates a first drive mechanism (20), a second drive mechanism (26), and a third drive mechanism (32) to guide an X-arm (18), a Y-arm (24) and a Z-arm (10), respectively. The router (40), located on the Z-arm (30), moves downward to engage a router bit (42) to the panel (60) to depanel the printed circuit board (62) from the panel. A fixture chip (72), which has a preprogrammed pattern of the panel (60), is embedded inside the fixture (58). A radio frequency transmitter (80) transmits the pattern to a radio frequency receiver (82) that relays the pattern to the controller (64).
Abstract:
In a method of machining a blank from all directions using at least one machine tool, such as a milling machine, production of the ready-to-use, measured component which is controlled and classified with regard to quality, such as a turbine blade, occurs in as few steps and setups as possible with the use of machine tools and milling machines that as far as possible are of identical design. The blank, in a first machining step, is held by at least one first adapter and a first region is given its final partial shape corresponding to the intended use by a machine tool or milling machine. In a second machining step, the partly machined blank is held by at least one second adapter in the first, finally machined region, and the remaining region is given its final overall shape corresponding to the intended use by a machine tool or milling machine.
Abstract:
A working table apparatus for a cutting machine tool comprising a working table slidably mounted on a bed of the machine tool, and positioning members mounted on the under side of the working table that are selectively projectable from or retractable into a work supporting surface of the working table. The positioning members comprise a group including a first plurality of positioning members arranged in a row either in a direction parallel with the sliding direction of the working table or in a direction perpendicular thereto and at least one second positioning member arranged offset from the row of the first positioning members.
Abstract:
A method for creation of a surface from a rough blank for spectacles is which is suitable for both brittle-hard materials and for plastics uses makes use of a disk-shaped, rotation-symmetrical tool of relatively large diameter, by means of which the material to be taken off the rough blank is removed with high grinding or milling efficiency in at least two work steps--a plunge-cut step and a shaping step with material removed along a spiral path. The outcome of the last work step is a machining path traveling in a spiral from the outside to the inside with low residual apex height and relatively large apex spacing. The resulting surface needs only slight fine-grinding and polishing aftertreatment. As an option, both a rim machining step adapted to the form of the eyeglass frame and a work step faceting the rim of the eyeglasses can be integrated into the method. Furthermore, tools are proposed for carrying out the grinding and milling process.
Abstract:
In a machine tool having a base member, a table supported on the base member, on which a workpiece may be positioned to be machined, and a toolhead assembly supported on the base member, provided with a tool engageable with the workpiece positioned on the table for performing a work function relative thereto wherein the table and the toolhead assembly are displaceable relative to each other along a line of travel, an assembly for holding down a workpiece positioned on the table upon relative displacement of the table and the toolhead assembly along the line of travel generally consisting of at least one upper roller having an axis disposed transversely relative to the line of travel and engageable in rolling contact with an upper surface of a workpiece positioned on the table, a set of lower rollers each having an axis disposed transversely relative to the line of travel and engageable in rolling contact with an undersurface of the table and means supported on the base member and operatively interconnecting the upper and lower rollers for selectively drawing the rollers together into engagement with the workpiece and table therebetween whereby the workpiece will be urged into contact with the table and the rollers will be disposed in rolling contact with the workpiece and the table as the table and toolhead assembly are displaced relative to each other.
Abstract:
The lens generator which produces a curved surface in a lens blank while simultaneously producing a complementary curved surface in a lap or tool used to fine and polish the lens. By producing a tool having the exact shape as the lens, it is possible to manufacture the lens precisely to the requirements of a customer's prescription. By simultaneously cutting the lens and the lap, the production time is decreased as compared to generators that first produce a lens and subsequently produce a lap. A mechanical arrangement is used resulting in a simple and inexpensive machine.
Abstract:
A side face machining apparatus includes a pair of slide blocks opposed to each other and provided with work supports on respective opposed ends. At least one of the slide blocks is reciprocatingly movable toward and away from the other slide block. A pair of mount tables are mounted on the respective slide blocks movably in a direction intersecting the direction of reciprocating movement of the slide blocks. Each of the mount tables is provided with a machining tool. Each work support includes a contact portion having a reference face for positioning workpiece in place by contact with a side face of the work piece. At least one of the work supports has at one side thereof a guide for positioning the workpiece as placed on the supports by contact with another side face thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a machine for milling the ends of ingots or slabs, which comprises a fixed standard, a broach head mounted to slide on two vertical guiding slideways with which said standard is provided and bearing a horizontal-axis cylindrical mill. The fixed standard, oversized, presents a transverse conduit opening out between the two slideways in front of the mill. The piece to be machined is disposed in this conduit and fixed by fixation means placed as close as possible to the slideways.
