A film obtained from such polymer compositions and its use agricultural processes are also claimed.

The present invention comprises reaction products resulting from the reaction of hydrazido-substituted or certain amino-substituted polymer stabilizers and cyclic dianhydrides, as well as the use of such products. The polymer stabilizers of the invention are useful for protecting a large variety of synthetic polymeric organic materials from the degradative effects of heat, light and oxygen. Some of the modifiers are flame retardants and many are metal deactivators in addition to their primary activity.

The present invention relates to a cure system for a sulfur vulcanizable rubber. A synthetic rubber (SR) tire tread of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and butyl rubber which SR is essentially free of natural rubber (NR), upon vulcanization with sulfur in the presence of a combination of sulfenamide accelerators, provides excellent oxidative stability, resistance to hardening, and flex resistance, despite increasing the level of sulfur to an amount in the range from 2.0-3.0 phr, as long as the total amount of sulfenamide accelerators is less than 2.0 phr and there is more TCS than BTS. The crosslink network generated by the use of TCS in combination with BTS, which combination produces poor oxidation stability in a predominantly NR containing rubber, is not produced in SR.

Disclosed are crosslinking compositions having both sulfur and nonsulfur curative systems which are particularly adapted for crosslinking rubber blends of (a) from about 35% to about 85% halobutyl rubber or a mixture of butyl rubber and halobutyl rubber wherein the halobutyl rubber is at least 50% by weight of the mixture and (b) from about 15% to about 65% of an epihalohydrin rubber, and the rubber materials crosslinked therewith. The rubber materials crosslinked with these crosslinking compositions have an excellent balance of cure rate, cure state and scorch safety; have improved tire carcass adhesion and good impermeability to gases; and are useful in tire inner tubes and inner liners.
