    摘要: An apparatus for self cleaning a thermal oxidizer that is thermally treating and decontaminating gases is disclosed. The apparatus for self cleaning the thermal oxidizer can clean the accumulated dust out from inside the thermal oxidizer without requiring disassembly of the unit. The apparatus for self cleaning can also accomplish this cleaning cycle without interrupting the normal operation of the thermal oxidizer. Dust cleaned out from the apparatus for self cleaning the thermal oxidizer is decontaminated by the same thermal treatment that decontaminates the gases processed by the thermal oxidizer. Many of the existing thermal oxidizers already in operation can be retrofitted to become self cleaning thermal oxidizers. It is also possible to include the apparatus for self cleaning in a new thermal oxidizer.

    摘要: Incinerator apparatus includes a furnace and a chimney in communication with the furnace. Within the furnace, a pipe having a bore and extending upward from the bottom of the furnace is disposed. The pipe is in communication with atmospheric air at the lower end thereof and is provided with a plurality of air holes therein. The pipe also includes a top air hole at the top end thereof. The top air hole has a transverse cross-sectional area smaller than that of the bore of the pipe. External air is spontaneously introduced from the outside of the furnace and flows out through the top air hole. As air flows out of the top air hole, it is also uniformly distributed through the air holes into the furnace and garbage to be burned in said furnace.

    摘要: A method and apparatus retrofitted to a multiple-intertube pulverized-coal burner to reduce NO.sub.x emissions of roof fired boilers. An internal two stage process controls the amount of secondary air which flows to the burner. The first stage includes a secondary air damper and air flow station to regulate the amount of air which flows into a windbox of the burner. A baffle plate assembly which includes a plurality of baffle plates further limits the amount of air which flows to the core of the burner for combustion of the fuel. The baffle plates create a pressure drop within the windbox which forces or diverts a quantity of air to the periphery of the burner. The second stage includes an outlet formed in the hot primary air duct, an air plenum which communicates therewith, and a plurality of interjectory air ports which correspond with the burners in number and position along a front wall of the boiler and which communicate with the air plenum. The interjectory air ports inject interjectory air into a combustion chamber of the boiler at a substantially 90 degree angle to the direction of a plurality of burner tips of each burner and supplies the balance of the required theoretical combustion air needed to complete combustion of the fuel. A plurality of probes measure the amount of primary air, secondary air and interjectory air and signal a command loop circuit to adjust the secondary air dampers and interjectory air ports accordingly.

    摘要: A mounting and proofing apparatus has plate and layout cylinders rotatably mounted in a frame in parallel alignment to each other. A partial mirror is disposed proximate the plate and layout cylinder to permit a user looking into the partial mirror to view superimposed images of the layout and plate cylinders. At least one video camera is disposed above and directed at the partial mirror to image the superimposed images upon a video display having radicle markings. A layout sheet is installable on the layout cylinder indicating proper positioning of printing plates on the plate cylinder. The video camera optionally magnifies superimposed images of registration marks on the layout sheet and the plate cylinder. The user aligns the radicle with the registration mark, places a printing plate on the imaged area of the plate cylinder, and then aligns corresponding registration mark on the printing plate with that of the layout sheet. The magnification is sufficient to allow alignment of microdot registration marks on flexographic printing plates. Encoders allow a digital readout of camera positions and circumferential displacement of the plate and layout cylinders facilitating alignment verification and location of registration marks on the layout sheet. Optionally, the magnification of the video displays of the cameras may be altered optically or electronically to increase a field of view to allow alignment of printing patterns, and in particular those of slug plates, without the use of registration marks.

    摘要: A filter-dryer unit has an agitator having an agitator arm provided with gas discharge nozzles directed at the bottom wall, which includes a liquid discharge filter element, of the vessel of the filter-dryer unit. High pressure, high velocity gas is discharged through the nozzles to break up and remove the heel, consisting of finished product not expelled by agitator action. Product particles from the heel, after the heel has been broken up, are removed by agitator action and by the pressure of the gas discharged through the nozzles, through a standard product discharge opening. A separator/filter unit is provided to separate particles from the gas being discharged through the vessels discharge opening. The agitator arm is provided with a nozzle directed at the side wall of the vessel to remove any residual product on the side wall and a nozzle directed at an angle to the side wall to facilitate removal of the heel adjacent the side wall.
