Abstract: An antenna assembly includes a column substrate having a plurality of sides. The column substrate defines a cavity extending from a first end of the column substrate to a second end of the column substrate. The antenna assembly includes a monopole antenna disposed within the cavity. The monopole antenna is configured to communicate over a first frequency band ranging from about 5000 Megahertz to about 5900 Megahertz. The antenna assembly includes a circularly polarized antenna. The circularly polarized antenna includes a plurality of isolated magnetic dipole elements. Each of the isolated magnetic dipole elements is coupled to a different side of the column substrate. The circularly polarized antenna is configured to communicate over a second frequency band and a third frequency band. The second frequency band ranges from about 1560 Megahertz to about 1620 Megahertz. The third frequency band ranges from about 2400 Megahertz to about 2500 Megahertz.

Abstract: Antenna monitoring systems and methods can include, among other things, a transmitter near each of the antennas in a distributed antenna system (DAS). The transmitter can transmit an antenna identifier corresponding to that antenna, so that the various transmitters in the DAS each transmit different antenna identifiers. These antenna identifiers can be detected by a receiver and can be processed to determine whether any antenna identifiers are missing. If any expected antenna identifier is missing, the receiver can infer that the antenna or a component associated with the antenna (such as cabling) may have failed. The receiver can then output an indication or notification that may be accessed by maintenance personnel and/or emergency personnel to enable them to identify and repair the non-functioning antenna or component. The transmitter can transmit other data, such as environmental data, RF data, or the like, to facilitate additional or alternative monitoring functionality.

Abstract: There is provided an antenna arrangement for a radio transceiver device. The antenna arrangement comprises at least two antenna arrays, wherein at least one of the at least two antenna arrays has antenna elements of two polarizations. The antenna elements of one polarization at each of the at least two antenna arrays define a respective set of antenna elements. The antenna arrangement comprises at least two baseband chains. The antenna arrangement comprises a switching network configured to selectively operatively connect each of the at least two baseband chains with its own set of antenna elements such that no two baseband chains are operatively connected to one and the same set of antenna elements. Each of the at least one antenna array that has antenna elements of two polarizations is operatively connected to the switching network via a respective hybrid connector configured to provide a signal from one of the baseband chains to antenna elements of both polarizations.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for implementing and utilizing dual-polarized planar ultra-wideband antennas. An example planar antenna may include a substrate, a monopole conductor, a first ground conductor, and a second ground conductor. The monopole conductor may be connected to a first signal feeding line. The first ground conductor may be connected through a ground connector to ground potential. The first ground conductor may be further connected to a second signal feeding line. The second ground conductor may connected to ground potential located on a particular side of the substrate. The planar antenna may be configured to transmit and receive radiation in two mutually cross-polarized modes.
