摘要: A rack for supporting a bicycle in a generally upright position, the rack comprising a frame comprising a curb bar; and the curb bar comprising a mounting surface for exerting a counterbalancing force on a crank assembly of the bicycle to frictionally hold the bicycle in the generally upright position. When the bicycle is supported by the curb bar, the bicycle is positioned relative to the rack for securing the bicycle to the rack. The curb bar exerts a counterbalancing force on the pedal axle or the pedal of the bicycle. The counterbalancing force may be a frictional force or a torque. Bicycles can be supported on either side of the rack, the bicycles facing in either a forward or reverse direction. The bicycle may be secured to the rack at multiple points.

摘要: A bicycle antitheft device includes an antitheft mechanism switchable between an antitheft state and a release state, wherein the antitheft mechanism includes a first member that moves relative to a second member to move the bicycle forward and backward. A movement controlling mechanism hinders the first member from moving relative to the second member when the antitheft mechanism is in the antitheft state, and a selection mechanism is provided for selecting one of the antitheft state and the release state. Alternatively, the antitheft mechanism may include a sound generator for generating a sound when the first member moves relative to the second member and the antitheft mechanism is in the antitheft state. The movement controlling mechanism and the sound generator may be combined into a single antitheft mechanism. The movement controlling mechanism and/or sound generator may be installed inside of an internal transmission such as a hub or crank transmission, or they could be installed inside a handlebar control for the transmission.

摘要: A lock for a motorcycle has a generally U-shaped construction. The open end of the U is slipped over the brake rotor of the front wheel or the sprocket of the rear wheel of the motorcycle. A bolt then extends across the open end of the U-12 shape to hold the device in place. This bolt is engaged by a spring loaded pin so as to hold it in position. Rotation of the wheels is then prevented by contact between the lock and the brake calipers on the front wheel or the chain or sprocket on the rear wheel. In order to release the bolt, a cam and a spring biasing the pin in the opposite direction are provided so that rotation of the cam allows the pin to be withdrawn from the bolt. The lock includes a lock-out mechanism which prevents the motorcycle from being started when the lock is in place because the lock-out mechanism retains the ignition key. In addition to the lock, a single loop cable can be provided for attachment about a stationary object and received within a channel in the lock. This channel in the lock also has a spring loaded pin which engages the head of the cable under the influence of the cam.
