The coupler is configured to couple the mandrel ball to the mandrel rod and includes a link, a first connector member, a second connector member, and a retainer. The link includes a body and a collar. The first and second connector members are positioned to lie over the second end of the body and cooperate to define a groove sized to receive the collar of the link and a socket sized to retain a projection of the mandrel ball. The retainer is positioned to lie over the first and second connector members and the link to secure the first and second connector members to the link.

The noise attenuation system includes a tube and an acoustic reflector attached to the tube. 摘要： A muffler assembly includes a pair of outer shells mating to define a muffler chamber and a pair of internal tuning plates mating to define inlet and outlet tubes in the muffler chamber. Drop-in baffles are used to divide the muffler chamber into an expansion chamber, a pair of exhaust turnaround chambers, and a pair of resonance chambers. The two outer shells and first tuning plates are mechanically locked together at the perimeter of the muffler assembly and the second tuning plate is piggybacked onto the first tuning plate to reduce the number of material layers included in the mechanical lock. Each of the outer shells includes one or more ribs and channels for stiffening the outer shell to reduce vibration noise and to conduct condensate developing in the muffler chamber either to a hotter region where it will vaporize or to a drain.

摘要： A radiant heater assembly is provided that includes heating element for generating heat radiantly to warm a space to be heated. The heater assembly includes a sensor for sensing temperature within the radiant heater assembly. An overheat control unit is provided for automatically disabling the heater elements upon exposure of the sensor to temperature in excess of a predetermined threshold temperature. Alert indicators are provided for indicating disablement of the heater elements upon actuation of the overheat control unit. A tip-over switch is provided for activating the alert indicators independent of actuation of the overheat control unit in response to predetermined tilting movement of the radiant heater assembly relative to a normal upright position.

摘要： A catalytic converter includes a longitudinally disposed body portion having first and second shell halves and an interior in which first and second catalytic substrates are disposed. A divider is positioned between the first and second catalytic substrates and is selectively attachable to accommodate substrates of various relative sizes. The divider includes first and second divider halves, with each divider half having a pair of flanges which extend perimetrically and substantially completely along the interior wall of one shell half. The portion of the interior wall of each shell to which the divider flanges are attached has a greater longitudinal extent than the longitudinal extent of the pair of divider flanges to allow selective placement of the dividers in the converter body portion. The divider flanges are disposed substantially parallel to the interior wall and are coupled thereto. The divider flanges include a portion which is recessed inwardly from the interior wall. This portion provides a passageway between the substrates and first and second mating sections. The first mating section includes a stud and the second mating section includes an aperture. The aperture of the second mating section is sized and positioned to receive the stud of the first mating section.

摘要： An exhaust processor having a housing and a diesel particulate trap or filter retained within the housing is provided with a particulate trap seal. The housing includes an inlet for introducing a combustion product into the housing and an outlet for exhausting combustion product from the housing. The trap includes a monolithic cellular structure having two opposing ends. The structure includes a plurality of intermediate walls arranged to provide a plurality of substantially parallel passages. The intermediate walls and passages extend longitudinally from the housing inlet to the housing outlet. The exhaust processor further includes plugs for closing alternate passages at opposite ends of the particulate trap. Additionally, the exhaust processor includes a seal on the peripheral edge at each end of the outer wall of the particulate trap to block the passage of combustion product through the passages adjacent to the outer wall. Each seal can include a side wall portion embracing the outer wall of the cellular structure and a lip portion overlying a radially outer portion of one end of the cellular structure.

摘要： An evaporative cooler is disclosed which incorporates a media having a plurality of generally plate-like structures. The plates include a plurality of fins having slot-like depressions dimensioned thin enough to exhibit capillarity, yet thick enough to exhibit good heat transfer characteristics when filled with chilled water. The capillary slots are arranged to effect distribution of the water over substantially the entire surface of the plates forming the media. In one embodiment, the slot-like depressions of adjoining plates are alternately spaced, and aligning projections are provided to align adjoining plates with respect to each other.

摘要： A banding strap for attaching a heat shield to a muffler comprises a strap for encircling the muffler and heat shield, the strap including an underlying end segment and an overlying end segment, each including outwardly projecting shoulder sections providing abutments for crimping to interlock the end segments and tighten the strap around the muffler and heat shield. The outwardly projecting shoulder section in the overlying end segment forms an inwardly opening bight for receiving the outwardly projecting shoulder section in the underlying end segment. Each shoulder section includes an inwardly projecting indentation so that the indentation of one of the shoulder sections nests within the indentation of the other of the shoulder sections when the shoulder sections are engaged to prevent lateral misalignment of the end segments with respect to each other.
