摘要： A method of in vivo monitoring the condition of an internal body repair in which an imageable, non-absorbable repair device having non-absorbable, particulate imaging material substantially uniformly dispersed therein has been surgically inserted, including: in vivo sensing of dimensional deformation of or imaging material concentration changes in said repair device during the post-surgical healing process; comparing the sensed values with a previously developed correlation between said sensed values and the values at which failure occurs of comparable repair devices; wherein said sensed values relative to the repair device's failure values, considered in conjunction with the anticipated time for complete healing of said repair, provides information as to the condition of the repair.

摘要： A maintenance vehicle and associated method for measuring and correcting the level of a railroad track in a single pass. An instrument carriage, or frog, is towed by and in fixed relationship to the maintenance vehicle. The frog carries at least one inclinometer to measure at least one of longitudinal level and crossfall. As the vehicle periodically stops to work the track e.g. tamping or stoneblowing), the inclinometers are provided with the settling time necessary for accurate readings. In an additionally disclosed method, the track is measured and modeled prior to working using a primary measurement system and is then measured and modeled a second time while the track is worked using the frog.

摘要： The specification discloses an improved railroad track curve liner for more accurately locating track transition points to more accurately calculate an improved track configuration as a funcion of the existing track configuration. The curve liner is mounted on a track tamper. During a first pass over the track, the curve liner acquires track ordinate information. After calculating the ideal track configuration, the tamper laterally shifts the track to the ideal configuration in a second pass over the track. The improved track configuration is calculated in recognition that the ordinate graph is not linear in all areas--particularly at tract transition points.

摘要： The stationary die of a flat die thread rolling machine is supported on a series of stacked members which may be automatically unclamped, automatically adjusted and then automatically re-clamped to hold the stationary die in a precisely adjusted position relative to a reciprocating die. Fastener blanks from a supply hopper are fed to the dies along a set of parallel rails and are captivated by an upper hold-down rail, there being means for automatically and simultaneously adjusting the elevation of the hopper and the parallel rails and there further being means for independently adjusting the angle and elevation of the hold-down rail. Adjacent blanks in the parallel rails are separated from one another by a catcher which enables a pusher to insert the blanks between the dies in a smooth and trouble-free manner. A die holder for the stationary die is precisely located and locked in the machine but may be easily removed from the machine to facilitate easy and precise installation of the stationary die in the holder.

摘要： Pipe racking apparatus including a feeder for horizontal pipe racks which have horizontally spaced pipe racking beams providing pipe positioning elements for laterally spacing stands of pipe, the feeder including pipe stand engaging lugs carried by an endless chain which is movable in either direction to rack or unrack pipe stands. The chain is movable in increments corresponding to the spacing of the pipe stands by a double acting cylinder-piston actuator and opposing shifter dogs engageable with the endless chain to move the latter in opposite directions. A pick-up finger is movable between retracted and projected positions for engaging and moving a pipe stand to a preliminary racked position engageable by the feeder for movement to a racked position.

A hydraulic cylinder is mounted in pivoted relation to the support and to the arm for moving the stabbing head through the arcuate path.

摘要： Control means for a well pipe rack and the like wherein a plurality of fluid pressure operated devices are sequentially operated. The pipe rack includes a finger board having horizontal arms defining spaces for receiving lengths of well pipe, and fingers are pivotally mounted on the arms and actuatable by fluid pressure between upright or open positions and horizontal or closed positions bridging the spaces between the arms to confine the lengths of pipe in place. The control includes a step-by-step operable mechanism for sequentially shifting a number of valves to one position as the mechanism is operated in one direction, the valves returning to an initial position when the mechanism is operated in the other direction. The rack fingers are sequentially opened and closed responsive to shifting of the valves between the two positions.
