    摘要: A multi-layer film having an intermediate layer containing, as a main component, a mixture of two kinds of specific linear low density polyethylenes, and innermost and outermost layers containing, as a main component, a mixture of a specific high pressure process polyethylene, a specific ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer and a specific linear low density polyethylene. The film has an automatic packaging machine applicability and an excellent heat sealability at low temperatures without defects such as lowering of tuck in property, stretchability in the transverse direction and film slipping property and blocking, and is suitably employed as films for stretch packaging and shrink packaging which are used for prepackaging of retailed goods, mainly foods. Further, a multi-layer film prepared by incorporating a specific surfactant composition into at least two layers of the above multi-layer film has, in addition to these properties, an excellent antifogging effect (initial antifogging property and retainability of antifogging property) on various objects to be packaged.

    摘要: A process for producing N-(3',4'-dimethoxycinnamoyl)-anthranilic acid, which comprises (i) allowing 3',4'-dimethoxycinnamic acid to react with anthranilic acid in an aprotic polar solvent in the presence of a particular inorganic salt and an iminium salt--which could be prepared quantitatively from dimethylformamide and an inexpensive acid halide--or (ii) allowing 3',4'-dimethoxycinnamic acid to react with an iminium salt and then with an anthranilic acid-inorganic salt complex, a novel complex not described in the literature. According to the process of this invention, the desired compound can be produced in a high yield with no substantial formation of hardly separable by-products.

    摘要: A thermal recording sheet having on a support a thermal recording layer adapted for developing color when heated has an outermost surface layer formed by bringing it into contact with the surface of a smooth body when it is in a wet state, drying it and separating it from the surface of the smooth body. The sheet has a surface which is so smooth that when a first straight line extending in parallel to the centerline of a roughness curve as obtained in accordance with the method of JIS B0601 crosses the roughness curve with a contact ratio of 10%, a second straight line extending in parallel to the centerline and between it and the first straight line and having a distance of 1.5 .mu.m from the first straight line crosses the roughness curve with a contact ratio of at least 80%. The sheet is, therefore, easy to bring into intimate contact with a thermal head and is of high image quality and sensitivity. If the smooth body has a glossy or dull surface, it is possible to produce a thermal recording sheet having a uniformly glossy or dull surface without lowering its image quality or sensitivity.

    摘要: A biaxially stretched film of an ethylene copolymer, preferably a mixture of (A) 90 to 50% by weight of a linear ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer having a density of 0.90 to 0.93 g/cm.sup.3 at 25.degree. C. and a melt index of 0.2 to 3.0 g/10 min. and (B) 10 to 50% by weight of an ethylene polymer having a density of 0.87 to 0.91 g/cm.sup.3 at 25.degree. C. and less than the density of the copolymer (A) by at least 0.014 g/cm.sup.3 and a melt index of 0.2 to 5.0 g/10 min., said copolymer or copolymer mixture giving a DSC curve with an endothermic area under the temperature lower than its melting temperature (main endothermic peak temperature) by 10.degree. C. accounting for at leat 55% of the total endothermic area. The stretched film is little varying in thickness and is excellent in heat shrinkability at low temperature.

    摘要: A process for preparing carboxymethyl ethyl cellulose (CMEC) suitable for enteric coating which comprises (1) adding an alkali metal hydroxide and water to a substantially water-immiscible organic solvent dispersion of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and reacting CMC with an ethyl halide in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, (2) dissolving the produced CMEC in an aqueous solution of a basic compound selected from the group consisting of ammonia, a water-soluble amine and an alkali metal hydroxide and subjecting the resulting solution to depolymerization in the presence of a peroxide, (3) neutralizing the resulting basic reaction mixture with an acidic substance in the presence of a lower alkyl alcohol or acetone to form a hydrogel of the depolymerized CMEC, subjecting the hydrogel to dehydration with agitation, isolating the depolymerized CMEC and washing with water, and (4) drying the wet depolymerized CMEC without pulverization or after pulverizing in the wet state to particles having an average particle size of at most 100 .mu.m. The product has an excellent quality, and is easily soluble in organic solvents and easily dispersible in water, and provides a coating film having excellent strength, resistance to gastric juice and solubility in intestinal juice. Also, the solubility in organic solvents and dispersibility in water of the product can be controlled by selecting the basic compound used in the depolymerization.

    摘要: A pigmented coating composition comprising a pigment consisting of kaolin clay or TiO.sub.2 or the mixture thereof, or a pigment wherein Al(OH).sub.3 is further blended therein, and also comprising an adhesive consisting of crosslinkable ethylenevinylacetate copolymer aqueous emulsion combined with a crosslinker or of crosslinkable polyacrylate copolymer aqueous emulsion combined with a crosslinker of water-soluble polymaidepolyurea resin and the pigment above and the mixed adhesive are formulated in a ratio of 85:15 to 70:30 as coating composition. This pigmented adhesive composition is primed on the substrate paperboard. Thereby finished ovenable paperboards, being capable of retaining the brightness at least 45% against the heat-treatment of 250.degree. C. for 20 minutes, is free from scorch even in an electrically heating oven and is excellent in adhesion to extrusion-laminating plastic layer.
