    摘要: A berth arrangement for installation in a sleeping compartment having a ceiling formed with a downwards open recess, comprises a berth holder and a bearing for mounting the berth holder for turning relative to the ceiling structure between a generally horizontal retracted position and a generally vertical lowered position. A berth is journalled in the holder to be turnable when the holder is in its lowered position between an extended position, in which the berth extends substantially horizontally away from the holder, and a folded up position, in which the berth is disposed substantially vertically and is close to the holder. A first gas spring is effective against the holder for exerting, over substantially the entire range of angular movement of the holder, a torque that tends to turn the holder in the direction from its lowered position toward its retracted position and increases as a function of the angle through which the holder turns in the direction from its lowered position toward its retracted position over substantially the entire range of angular movement of the holder. A second gas spring is effective between the holder and the berth and exerts a torque that tends to turn the berth in the direction from its extended position toward its folded up position.

    摘要: A fire shutter comprises a plurality of substantially planar fire plate elements each having first and second opposite edges and supported so that they are adjacent to each other and turnable about respective parallel axes from a flow-through open position, in which gas-flow passages are formed between the plate elements, to a closed position, in which the first edge of one plate element of each pair of adjacent plate elements is close to the second edge of the other plate element of the pair and the fire plate elements together form a closed barrier. The first edge of the one plate element is provided with a sealing structure including a plane part, which laps over an area adjacent the second edge of the other plate element to lie substantially parallel to the plane of that area of the other plate element, and a transverse part which is substantially perpendicular to the plane part and confronts the second edge of the other plate element, whereby distortion of the other plate element does not create a significant gap between the one plate element and the other plate element.

    摘要: A welded structure is formed by arranging multiple pieces on a three-dimensional support base to provide an assembly in accordance with the structure to be welded and making a picture map of the assembly by photographing the assembly. Weld points are identified from the picture map and welding parameters are determined from the picture map. Control data specifying the weld points and welding parameters are supplied to welding equipment that is operable in a three-dimensional X-Y-Z coordinate system. The welding equipment is moved in the X-Y plane on the basis of the picture map and said control data. The welding equipment is moved along the Z-axis on the basis of Z-axis position data that are acquired by repeatedly measuring the Z-axis position of the support base.

    摘要: A fire resistant and sound insulating wall structure, particularly for the ship building industry, includes vertical stiffeners and a surface plate attached to the vertical stiffeners, preferably by gluing. A relatively thin corrugated plate is attached to the surface plate by gluing. The corrugations of the corrugated plate are substantially horizontally oriented and accordingly the corrugated plate provides horizontal stiffness. The glue attachment of the surface plate to the vertical stiffeners is preferably secured by means of screws for maintaining the fire-resisting properties of the structure in the event of the glue being destroyed by the heat of a fire.

    摘要: A plate body is formed from two plane metal plates each at least 5 mm thick and having an edge at least 10 meters long, by machining each plate along its edge to form a welding groove with high accuracy relative to the dimensions and shape of the groove and with a smooth groove surface. The groove extends from a first side of each plate through only part of the thickness of the plates to leave a root area at the second side of the plate. The plates are supported in the vicinity of the welding groove from the second side of the plates by a support bed and are retained by use of suction in relative positions such that the root areas of the two plates are in confronting and contacting relationship. A weld is created in the welding groove by butt joint welding from the first side only of the plates.
