摘要： A wheel fastener and method of forming a wheel fastener is provided. The wheel fastener has a fastener body with a threaded portion, a wrenching portion and a spherical load-bearing portion is configured to mate with a fastener seat on a wheel, where the spherical radius is in the range of 13.9 mm to 14.0 mm. The fastener also includes a multi-layer coating is applied to the fastener body, the multi-layer coating having a friction topcoat with a coefficient of friction in the range of 0.10 to 0.20. The fastener also includes a cap secured on the wrenching portion and defining a wrenching surface.

摘要： A wheel fastener alarm assembly is provided having a fastener body with a first portion defining a wrenching surface and a cavity, and a second portion with a threaded portion to attach and detach from a wheel of a vehicle. A sensor array is disposed in the cavity of fastener body to detect an attribute of the fastener body and generate an output signal based on the attribute of the fastener body. An antenna connected to the sensor array to transmit the signal to a remote location. A cap is secured to the first portion of the fastener body and covers the wrenching surface and the cavity opening to define a capped fastener body.

摘要： A nut fastener is provided for locking the nut to prevent inadvertent loosening of the nut. The nut fastener is particularly useful for tightening a wheel onto an axle. The nut fastener includes a nut, a collar and a retaining ring. The nut is unlocked by pushing on an engagement surface of the collar or by riding ratchet teeth over each other. The flange is slotted to form flexible fingers that conform to the interior surface of the fascia. The fingers are welded to the fascia to attach the bracket to the interior surface of the fascia. A vehicle component, such as an impact sensor, is attached to the mounting boss to secure it to the fascia.
