    摘要: Methods and wireless communication devices for access procedure enhancement are provided. The wireless communication device for access procedure enhancement includes a transceiver module and a communication protocol module. The transceiver module performs wireless transmissions and receptions. The communication protocol module receives a page message from a base station via the transceiver module, transmits at least one access probe via the transceiver module, and terminates the transmission of the rest of an access probe payload of the at least one access probe according to a termination criterion. Moreover, the access probe is transmitted using a transmission power which is lower than a first threshold, and the access probe is transmitted at a data rate lower than a second threshold.

The wireless communication device for access procedure enhancement includes a transceiver module and a communication protocol module. The transceiver module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a network. The communication protocol module divides an access channel into a plurality of narrow band frequency division multiplexing (FDM) channels, groups a plurality of reverse link FDM access channels (R-FACH) into a plurality of R-FACH groups, determines whether a base station in a network supports an access probe. If yes, the base station joins at least one R-FACH group. The wireless communication device sends the access probe in a chosen R-FACH during each access procedure.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for a radio resource control (RRC) protocol to re-establish connection in a mobile communication system environment are disclosed. A user equipment (UE), for performing connection re-establishment in a connected state with connection to a mobile communication system is provided. When a network problem occurs, the UE shall proceed with the RRC protocol connection re-establishment procedure if the security has been activated. However, if the security has not been activated and the Radio Link Control (RLC) protocol indicates the maximum number of re-transmission has been reached, the UE shall reset lower layers of the RRC protocol, release unnecessary radio resources, and indicate the release of the RRC protocol connection to upper layers of the RRC protocol. Then the UE enters the idle state and waits for the next trigger event.

The Power-down Registration signal conveys information to the AN indicating that a power-down process has been initiated by the AT, and thereby enables the AN to discontinue transmission of signals and messages to the AT that are not effective when the AT is in an off-state.
