摘要: Internal fixation systems and methods for prone lateral spine surgery on a patient. The system comprises a lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) retractor and a posterior compressor/distractor including a posterior distractor rack assembly having a rack and a posterior distractor carriage assembly configured to operably engage the posterior distractor rack assembly. The posterior distractor rack assembly includes a first swivel tube subassembly having a first swivel tube, and the posterior distractor carriage assembly includes a second swivel tube subassembly having a second swivel tube. The first and second swivel tubes are each configured to receive a pedicle screw and screw tower therein. The first and second swivel tube subassemblies are configured to be moved and positioned with respect to each other, such that a surgeon can access the patient's disc space from the left and right sides, and without the need for a bolster.

摘要: Enteral feeding pump systems valves assemblies therefor and related fluid flow control methods. The system includes a disposable fluid delivery set with an integral peristaltic tube section and an enteral feeding pump. The system may also include a pinching mechanism for regulating the flow of nutrient formula or water out of the fluid delivery set. Also disclosed is a flow selector valve assembly for an enteral feeding pump system, the valve assembly including a tube adapter having two input flexible tubing channels and one output tubing channel and being configured to position the flexible tubing channels in relation with a receiver. The receiver has an eccentric bearing that is moveable between a first position in which neither of the input flexible tubing channels is compressed, and a second position in which the eccentric bearing compresses one of the input flexible tubing channels therein to prevent flow therethrough.

摘要: Optical or light diffusers (or, simply, “diffusers”) designed and manufactured to include numerous facets randomly arranged in cells or sets on the diffuser outer (or front) surface in which the planar faces or outward-facing surfaces have orientations and transmission angles (as may be defined by direction cosines of normal) to redirect received light to a region or portion of a predefined light distribution. Methods of designing or defining the facets of the diffuser is also provided. The diffusers are optically designed to produce a user-specified distribution of light. The diffusers can be engineered through the configuration of the facets on its light transmission surface to produce nearly any type of light distribution or shape, and the diffuser design facilitates their manufacture using extrusion processes as well as other fabrication techniques.
