    摘要: A sliding seismic isolator includes a first plate attached to a building support, and at least one elongate element extending from the first plate. The seismic isolator also includes a second plate. The first and second plates are capable of moving relative to one another along a horizontal plane. The seismic isolator also includes a lower support member attached to the second plate, with a biasing arrangement positioned within the lower support member. The elongate element(s) extend from the first plate at least partially into the lower support member, and movement of the elongate element(s) is influenced or controlled by the biasing arrangement. The seismic isolator also includes a damping structure with closed ends spaced apart from the first plate and the base of the seismic isolator. The damping structure is configured to contain a substance, such as a liquid, gas, silicone, and/or a combination thereof, and to expand longitudinally when it is compressed.

    摘要: Generally described, aspects of the present disclosure relate to loading an updated virtual machine monitor on the physical computing device during a boot process. The updated virtual machine monitor may be loaded from an update manager external to the virtual machine monitor, such as the offload device or a server connected with the physical computing device over a network. In certain embodiments, the updated virtual machine monitor may be loaded in a tiered process by first loading a startup virtual machine monitor, which automatically updates by loading the updated virtual machine monitor. The startup virtual machine monitor may be a virtual machine monitor with less functionality than the updated machine manager, such as where the startup virtual machine monitor may be a “lite” or simple virtual machine monitor while the updated virtual machine monitor may be a fully functional virtual machine monitor of the most recent update or version.

    摘要: A process of producing a highly stable liquid crystal emulsion composition with improved qualities, in which a conventional complicated and costly process that requires specific equipment is streamlined into a simple and less costly process. A method of producing a liquid crystal emulsion composition having liquid crystal structure, comprising the steps of admixing 3 to 8 parts by weight of a hydrophilic surfactant which is a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ether having an HLB of 10 to 20 with 2 to 6 parts by weight of a lipophilic surfactant; admixing 5 to 10 parts by weight of the resulting admixture with 5 to 30 parts by weight of an oil component; admixing the obtained admixture with a mixture of 40 to 80 parts by weight of a water-soluble polyvalent alcohol and 8 to 40 parts by weight of water; and heating, homogeneously mixing and then cooling the thus obtained admixture.
