摘要: Method and system for detecting an unknown undesirable event, such as (but not limited to) a cyber-threat, a cyber-intrusion, a financial fraud event or a monitored process malfunction of breakdown. An exemplary method embodiments comprises obtaining a dataset comprising a plurality n of multidimensional data points with a dimension m≥2 wherein each data point is a vector of m features, processing the MDPs using measure-based diffusion maps to embed the MDPs into a lower dimension embedded space, and detecting in the embedded space an abnormal MDP without relying on a signature of a threat, the abnormal MDP being indicative of the unknown undesirable event.

摘要: Methods for pedestrian unit (PU) communication activity reduction in pedestrian-to-vehicle communication networks include obtaining safety risk information for a pedestrian at risk for involvement in an accident and using the risk information to adjust a PU communication activity. In some embodiments, the activity reduction is achieved without implementing understanding of surroundings. In other embodiments, the activity reduction is based on risk assessment provided by vehicles. In some embodiments, the activity reduction includes PU transmission reduction. In some embodiments the transmission activity reduction may be followed by reception activity reduction for overall power consumption reduction.

摘要: Embodiments of a method for OFDM frame boundary detection in a vehicular multipath channel include use of a maximal channel energy instead of a strongest path for detecting a frame boundary. A sample of OFDM data inputs is processed using long preamble local copy correlation and integration to obtain a channel energy which sums all paths of the multipath. A plurality of such channel energies obtained within a given time period are searched for a maximal channel energy, which, when found, is used to detect the frame boundary.

摘要: An apparatus for depositing annular or circular wedge coatings with arbitrary dependence of thickness versus position includes a coating tool in which at least one substrate is disposed in a line of sight arrangement vs. least one deposition source, each substrate having an axis of symmetry and associated with a single mask having an aperture and positioned between the substrate and the least one deposition source, the mask and the substrate arranged to perform a relative rotation around a common axis to follow a law of motion which results in the deposition of a coating with a desired law of variation of thickness vs. position on the circumference of the substrate. The relative rotation is imparted by a motor. In embodiments in which there are a plurality of substrates and associated single masks, the substrates are positioned on a planet carrier independently rotatable by another motor.

摘要: Apparatus and method for gain measurement and control of a Distributed Raman Amplifier (DRA). Various embodiments of the apparatus include a detection unit operative to measure, during operation of the DRA, the optical power of a filtered component of the light entering the DRA from the transmission fiber and a gain calculation and control unit coupled to the detection unit and operative to calculate a signal Raman gain property from the measured optical power. The filtered component may exemplarily be a result of passing the light through a band pass filter, a spectral filter with a given spectral shape or a notch filter. The signal Raman gain property may be an average on-off signal Raman gain, an average net signal Raman gain or a signal Raman gain tilt within a communication band. The apparatus and method may be used to operate the DRA in Automatic Gain Control, i.e. to maintain a required constant signal Raman gain and/or signal Raman gain tilt.

摘要: Methods for compression of two-dimensional data arrays which are piece-wise smooth in one direction and have oscillating events in the other direction. In one embodiment, a wavelet transform is applied in the piece-wise smooth direction and a local cosine transform (LCT) is applied in the direction with oscillatory events, both producing respective transform coefficients. The LCT coefficients are reordered to mimic a wavelet transform coefficient order, and both wavelet transform and reordered LCT coefficients are quantized and entropy coded to obtain a compressed 2D image. In some embodiments with oscillatory events in both directions, a LCT is applied in both directions and all the LCT coefficients in each direction are reordered before the quantization and entropy coding.
