摘要: Disclosed is a stimulated Raman scattering effect (SRS), amplifying optical fiber that includes a central core comprising a dielectric matrix that is capable of vibrating at a given frequency (ωRaman) under the effect of a pump signal. The optical fiber includes at least one kind of metallic nanostructure that is capable of generating surface plasmon resonance (SPR) in the optical fiber. The metallic nanostructures have a shape and composition such that the frequency of their surface plasmon resonance (ωplasmon) corresponds to the frequency of the pump signal (ωpump) and/or the frequency of the optical signal transmitted in the optical fiber (ωsignal).

摘要: The present invention provides transparent chips with natural metal-like texture by coating silica-containing transparent chips with colored material, such as a metal powder, in a transparent resin as a base resin. The present invention also provides artificial stone with natural metal-like texture and patterns by mixing the colored material coated transparent chips and inorganic filler with a matrix resin. The artificial stone of the present invention can be prepared by mixing about 4 to about 24 parts by weight of inorganic filler and about 0.1 to about 5.0 parts by weight of the colored material coated transparent chips, per about 1 part by weight of the matrix resin. The colored material coated transparent chips can have a specific gravity of about 2.0 to about 2.65, while the matrix resin can have a specific gravity of about 2.2 to about 2.8, and the specific gravity of the transparent chips can be equal to or lower than the specific gravity of the matrix resin in promote uniform distribution of the transparent chips in the matrix resin.

摘要: A bi-optical code symbol reading system including a system housing having a vertical housing section with a vertical window and a horizontal housing section with a horizontal window adjacent the vertical scanning window; and a digital video display subsystem, disposed within the vertical section of the system housing, and supporting the display of digital images in substantially the same plane as the vertical window during system operation. The digital images displayed by digital video display subsystem can be video images captured by an integrated digital imaging code symbol reading subsystem, to assist the operator in aligning code symbols during scanning operations. The digital images can also be product and price information captured during product scanning operations.

摘要: A POS-based bar code symbol reading system that reads bar code symbols on objects being passed through the 3D imaging or scanning volume supported by the system, and employs one or more object motion sensors (e.g. imaging based, IR Pulse-Doppler LIDAR-based, ultra-sonic energy based, etc.) to (i) measure or estimate the speed of objects being manually passed through the 3D imaging or scanning volume by the system operator, and (ii) visually and/or audibly display object scanning speed measures or estimates to provide the system operator with feedback for optimizing system throughput. The POS-based bar code symbol reading system has a performance advantage that leads to quicker customer checkout times and productivity gain that cannot be matched by the conventional bar code symbol scanning technology.
