Abstract:
Light-guiding surface of metal in the form of a rolled product, said rolled product having at least one structured surface created by a rolling process. The structured surface is a ribbed structure which runs in the rolling direction and exhibits a tooth-like cross-section. The tooth-like cross-section represents a periodic structure in the form of rows of triangles, the bases of which follow each other. One side of the triangle runs at an angle null, the other side at an angle null from the base which is of length l, null being an angle of 5 to 80null, null an angle of 10 to 90null and length l is 0.01 to 10 mm.
Abstract:
A device for forming a hollow profile formed as a multi-chamber profile (21) by means of an internal high pressure generated by a fluid pressure medium within the hollow profile containing a sealing die (1a) engaging in the profile chamber (20) with a carrier part (3a) and a collar (2a) arranged on the carrier part (3a) sealing the face side of the profile chamber (20). The die (1a) also has a passage opening (7a) as a pressure medium supply and/or extraction channel (9a). The collar (2a) is a resilient rubber die part arranged on the face of the carrier part (3a) facing the profile chamber (20) and on the free face (16a) of the collar (2a) is provided a preload plate (6a) which is anchored by way of the fixing means (8a) penetrating the collar (2a) in the carrier part (3a) lying on the collar (2a) so that the collar (2a) is squeeze-clamped between the preload plate (6a) and the carrier part (3a).
Abstract:
Composite printing plate for relief and/or photogravure printing, characterised in that it consists of a support layer of aluminum or aluminum alloy of very low tin or zinc content, and of an aluminum-zinc layer clad onto one side of the support layer.
Abstract:
The present invention consists of an aluminum alloy having a high fatigue strength which is particularly suited for use in the fabrication of printing plates for offset lithography. The alloy contains from 0.2 to 0.75% magnesium, from 0.45 to 0.7% copper, from 0.1 to 0.7% iron and up to 0.3% silicon. The alloy, when processed according to the process of the present invention possesses a uniquely high fatigue strength.
Abstract:
Induction-type reaction rail which can be easily shaped and welded and has a high electrical resistance, for use in conjunction with linear motors which power high speed trains, being made out of an alloy with the composition 0.7-3.5 % Mn rest aluminium which has a purity of at least 99.5 % in particular with an maximum impurity content of 0.1 % Fe and 0.15 % Si. For the production of induction-type reaction rails the alloy is rapidly cooled from the melt by continuous casting then heated to a temperature of 300*-500*C prior to extrusion and then extruded to shape and the emerging section rapidly cooled.
Abstract:
A method of manufacture of a conductor rail consisting of an aluminum body and a layer for instance of steel which method provides a hot union of said materials without obtaining an electrically poorly conducting intermetallic layer.
Abstract:
A lock device for a pair of members relatively movable about a common axis settable to lock or temporarily bind in a fixed relative position and reversible to lock in right hand or left hand applications.
Abstract:
A device and method for manufacturing molds for sand casting metallic objects, such as large though thin objects. There is provided a casting pattern disposed between mold means and composed of an elastic and flexible material suction held against a pattern support member operable to shape the mold means in succession as each is cast; said pattern representing a prototype of the metallic object to be cast.
Abstract:
Apparatus for the production of test specimens from green artificial carbon by shaking of a warm granular mass in a stationary mold, the bottom of which is formed by a closure plate vertically movable in the lower part of the mold, which rests on spring elements and can be set in vibration in the vertical direction by means of two oppositely rotating motors and is closable at the top by a counter-plate. The apparatus is distinguished in that said counter-plate is pressable by means of an upper cylinder by oil pressure against the carbon mass by virtue of the installation of a non-return valve and a fine needle valve connected parallel therewith in the oil conduit in such a way that it can follow the variation of height of the compacting mass.
Abstract:
A METHOD OF OPERATING A CELL OF AT LEAST 50 KA. FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM, COMPRISING CHOOSING THAT ANODIC CURRENT DENSITY WITH WHICH, WITH A DETERMINED ELECTROLYTE TEMPERATURE, A DETERMINED INTERPOLAR DISTANCE AND A DETERMINED THICKNESS OF THE ALUMINA COVERING ON THE ENCRUSTED SURFACE OF THE BATH, AS MUCH HEAT IS PRODUCED IN THE CELL AS THE CELL CAN CARRY AWAY AS LOSSES, AFTER DEDUCTION OF THE USEFUL AMOUNTS OF HEAT FOR THE DECOMPOSITION OF THE ALUMINA AND FOR HEATING OF THE RAW MATERIAL.
