摘要: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a processing system determining a first communication device initiating a communication session with a second communication device, and transmitting a notification to the second communication device. The notification indicates to the second communication device to initiate a location verification application on the second communication device, and the location verification application transmits notifications to adjacent network devices. Each notification indicates to an adjacent network device to provide its location to the processing system. Further embodiments include receiving locations from the adjacent network devices, and identifying a first location associated with the second communication device. Additional embodiments include determining that the first location is in proximity to the locations, and establishing the communication session between the first communication device and the second communication device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: Described is pooling baseband units into a hub and mapping radio units associated with the hub to baseband units of the group based on respective resource capacity data of the respective baseband units and an estimated resource usage data of a device that couples to a baseband unit. In one alternative, estimated peak resource usage data of a radio unit over an operation interval is used to select a baseband unit, generally based on which baseband unit of the pool has the least remaining resource capacity, to which the radio unit is mapped for the operation interval. In another alterative, estimated peak resource usage data resource (usage and duration) of a user equipment session is used to dynamically map the user equipment session to a baseband unit, generally selected by which baseband unit of the pool has the least remaining resource capacity.

摘要: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a plurality of accounting nodes, each accounting node being associated with a service node of a communication network, each accounting node being configured to collect data usage information for a network segment of the communication network including an associated service node, and an accounting server in data communication with accounting nodes of the plurality of accounting nodes, the accounting server configured to receive from the accounting nodes the data usage information for each service node and determine billing for data usage of each network segment. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: Adjusting a network path between a user equipment and a network edge cloud instance is disclosed. The adjustment of the network path can be based on performance of the network path. The performance of the network path can be ranked, based on performance, against other network paths. In an embodiment, the other network paths can be between the user equipment and the network edge cloud instance. Additionally, the other network paths can be between the user equipment and another network edge cloud instance that can be located remotely from the network edge cloud instance. In an embodiment, a recommendation can be provided to a cloud service provider to enable the cloud service provider to adjust a characteristic of an application or service performed by a network edge cloud instance. The disclosed subject matter can provide advantages over conventional cloud instances that are typically supported on a device located distant from a network device operated by a network provider.

摘要: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying a capacity of resources of a communication system, resulting in a first identification, wherein the communication system utilizes an unlicensed communication spectrum, identifying an amount of the resources that are actively consumed in a provisioning of communication services, resulting in a second identification, based on the first identification and the second identification, determining that the communication system is congested in an amount that is greater than a first threshold, and based on the determining, initiating at least one action to reduce the amount of the resources that are actively consumed from a first level to a second level that is less than the first level. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要: A method includes receiving a first message from a client device requesting an establishment of a transmission control protocol connection, wherein the first message contains a first sequence number for the transmission control protocol connection, calculating, based on the first sequence number and a first integer from a list of a plurality of randomly generated integers, a second sequence number for the transmission control protocol connection, sending a second message to the client device in response to the first message, wherein the second message contains the second sequence number, receiving a fourth message containing an acknowledgement number, extracting a second integer from the acknowledgement number, determining whether the fourth message originated with the client device by comparing the second integer to the first integer, and sending a fifth message to the client device, wherein a type of the fifth message is selected based on an outcome of the determining.

摘要: A processing system may identify a plurality of message contents within a plurality of reported messages, where each is reported as an unwanted message, determine, for each message content, a respective count comprising a number of occurrences the message content within the plurality of reported messages, identify a set of message contents within the plurality of message contents for which associated counts of the plurality of counts exceeds a first threshold, identify a source phone number that is a source of a first set of messages within the plurality of reported messages containing one or more message contents of the set of message contents, and where a number of reporting entities associated with the first set of messages exceeds at least a second threshold, and perform at least one remedial action in a communication network in response to the identifying of the source phone number.
