Abstract:
An intake air passage, formed through a motorcycle body frame, reduces changes in pressure within an air routing duct member due to opening and closing of a throttle, and also reduces pipe resonance of the air routing duct member. The air routing duct member extends longitudinally from the intake air passage and directs fresh air to another air passage. The air routing duct member includes openings that communicate with hollow sections provided in a portion of an adjacent support structure, such as an instrumentation support member. When the throttle is opened rapidly, air from the hollow sections is temporarily supplied to the air routing duct member, reducing changes in internal air pressure in the air routing duct member due to throttle operation. Resonance chambers are formed above the air routing duct member, and communicate through communication pipes with a space within the air routing duct member to reduce duct pipe resonance.
Abstract:
A viscous damper for driving accessories by a crankshaft though a viscous coupler of the viscous damper. The rotational driving force of the crankshaft is transmitted to the viscous damper hub through the meshing of a large diameter gear and a driven gear, the viscous damper forming a unit with the driven gear. The rotational driving force is further transmitted to a viscous damper housing through the hub and the viscous coupler, i.e., the viscous coupler including a number of plates which are movable relative to each other in a space filled with silicon oil. The rotational driving force, which is transmitted to the housing and is dampened in torque changes by the function of the coupler, is transmitted to a rotor shaft of an alternator to smoothly rotate the alternator rotor. A smooth performance in driving the accessories is ensured by the viscous damper having the viscous coupler.
Abstract:
An injector is stored in a fixing block integrally formed with an intake manifold. A soundproof cover covers the entire electric supply terminal projecting from the injector in a lateral direction and the coupler connected to the plug. In addition, the soundproof cover brought into close contact with a fuel distribution pipe covering over top portions of a plurality of injectors to supply fuel and with the intake manifold to prevent operating sound from leaking out. Further, a hard material cover for covering the fixing block of the intake manifold, the soundproof cover and the fuel distribution pipe so as to improve its aesthetic appearance as well as its soundproof effect is also provided. This arrangement results in shutting off operating sound from an injector of an engine having a cylinder head projecting in a transverse direction of a vehicle body.

The rotational driving force of the crankshaft is transmitted to the viscous damper hub through the meshing of a large diameter gear and a driven gear, the viscous damper forming a unit with the driven gear. The rotational driving force is further transmitted to a viscous damper housing through the hub and the viscous coupling means, i.e., the viscous coupling means comprising a number of plates which are movable relative to each other in a space filled with silicon oil. The rotational driving force, which is transmitted to the housing and is dampened in torque changes by the function of the coupling means, is transmitted to a rotor shaft of an alternator to smoothly rotate the alternator rotor. Abstract:
To reduce a load of a tensioner lifter, enhancing the oscillation absorption function of the tensioner lifter in a chain tensioner. In a chain tensioner provided with a tensioner arm rockably supported by fixed structure and relatively slidably engaged with the outside on the loose side of a transmission chain without an end coupling a driving sprocket and a driven sprocket and a tensioner lifter supported by the fixed structure for pressing the tensioner arm on the side of the transmission chain, a control arm is rockably supported by the fixed structure for transmitting the pressure of the tensioner lifter to the tensioner arm. The control arm is inserted between the tensioner arm and the tensioner lifter.
Abstract:
To enable the simultaneous achievement of the enhancement of an oscillation absorption function of a tensioner arm for a transmission chain and the enhancement of wear resistance in a chain tensioner. A tensioner arm is composed of an elastic band tensioner arm body curved toward a transmission chain and a flexible tensioner shoe which covers the front of the tensioner arm body and which is provided with a chain guide groove to the front of which the transmission chain is slidably fitted. The width of the middle in the longitudinal direction of the tensioner arm body is set so that the width is smaller than the width of each end of the arm body.
