摘要: A yarn feeding and guide device for knitting machines has at least one yarn feeder, which delivers the yarn arriving from a yarn package and being supplied as needed at a predetermined tension by a yarn delivery unit or fournisseur to the needles of a row of needles. The yarn feeder is disposed in a stationary manner on the machine such that it does not contact the needles of the needle row, and yarn guide elements located in the path of the yarn are associated with it. In order to obtain gentle handling of the yarn, in particular in the vicinity of the yarn feeder, and to attain easy manipulation of the yarn feeding and guide device, the arrangement is such that the yarn feeder has at least one open yarn guide groove formed on the circumference of a yarn feeder body provided with a securing device, and the bottom of this guide groove is curved in an arc--as viewed in the direction of yarn travel--and the yarn can be deflected in this guide groove into a direction extending obliquely with respect to the needles.

摘要: A device and a method for accurate dispensing of a radioactive liquid are disclosed. A source of a radioactive liquid and a source of a flushing liquid are selectively connected to a fluid delivery path by way of valve means. An activity metering unit is operable to determine a level of radioactivity in a metering section of the fluid delivery path downstream from the valve means. The device is operated by transporting a first amount of radioactive liquid to the metering section, using the activity metering unit to measure a reference level of radioactivity, calculating a second amount of the radioactive liquid still to be delivered such that the first and second amounts of radioactive liquid together have some predetermined level of radioactivity, and delivering the first and second amounts of radioactive liquid to the destination.

摘要: To prevent damage to an electrical resistance heater (13-16) which, when energized by electrical energy, for example in the order of 100 A at 12-24 V, a heat reservoir substance is included in the filter, positioned in heat transfer relation to the electrical resistance heater (13-16) and located, with respect to the flow direction of the gas stream through the filter, upstream of the filter material (15). Preferably, the electrical resistance heater is a perforated, tubular sheet-metal structure, axial ends of which are electrically connectable by connecting bolts (21, 25) to an electrical energy supply. The heat reservoir substance (14) is either wrapped at the outside over the tubular resistance heater (13-16), applied as a layer (14a) at the inside of the tubular resistance heater, or filled into the hollow interior thereof in form of a wire wool (14b). This substantially increases the heat transfer or heat exchange surface between the resistance heater and gases flowing therethrough, thus decreasing required electrical heating energy and protecting the resistance heater (13-16) against overheating upon variations in gas flow when the heater is energized. A typical heater temperature is 1300.degree. C., and it is, for example, made of sheet metal of 22% chromium, 4.8% aluminum, the remainder iron; the filter material preferably includes mineral fibers and metal wire; the heat reservoir substance (14) can be Inconel (Reg. TM) wire, preferably knitted.
