    摘要: The invention discloses an improved method and apparatus to statically equalize the span wise and chord wise moments of a detached plurality of radial projections. These detached radial projections are associated with a rotating assembly and constitute the majority of its rotating mass. When installed on the rotating assembly, the balanced radial projections will necessarily produce a center of rotating mass approximately concentric with its axis of rotation, thereby minimizing vibrations associated with its rotation. The method to statically equalize the span wise moments of the radial projections comprises first determining the span wise moment by finding the center of gravity and multiplying the distance from the center of gravity to the plane of attachment of the radial projection to the rotating assembly by its total weight.

    摘要: The invention discloses an improved method and apparatus to statically equalize the span wise and chord wise moments of a detached plurality of radial projections. These detached radial projections are associated with a rotating assembly and constitute the majority of its rotating mass. When installed on the rotating assembly, the balanced radial projections will necessarily produce a center of rotating mass approximately concentric with its axis of rotation, thereby minimizing vibrations associated with its rotation. The method to statically equalize the span wise moments of the radial projections comprises first determining the span wise moment by finding the center of gravity and multiplying the distance from the center of gravity to the plane of attachment of the radial projection to the rotating assembly by its total weight. Once all of the span wise moments are known, all span wise moments are made equal to some preferred span wise moment by the addition or subtraction of corrective weight at a corrective distance on the respective radial projections. The method to statically equalize the chord wise moment of the radial projections comprises first establishing the center of gravity of the radial projection and measuring the chord wise moment about a preferred longitudinal axis. Once all of the chord wise moments are known at the center of gravity, all chord wise moments made equal to some preferred chord wise moment by the addition or subtraction of weight on the chord wise axis at the center of gravity of the radial projection. By extension of this method, both span wise and chord wise moment profiles and weight distribution profiles can be made of respective radial projections and compared to a reference profile of parameters.

    摘要: An enclosure for an electronic device forms a barrier to electro-magnetic radiation. A typical cross-section of the enclosure comprises three parallel layers. The outer and inner surface layers are of a polymeric base material in which is suspended an electrically conductive fill material, giving the surface layers relatively high electrical conductivity. The middle layer is of a polymeric base material, in which is suspended fill material having high magnetic permeability, giving the middle layer relatively high magnetic permeability. In the preferred embodiment, the enclosure is constructed using a co-injection molding process. Nickel-coated graphite (high conductivity) in a polymeric base is injected into a mold from the outer co-injection nozzle, while carbonyl iron powder (high permeability) in a polymeric base is injected into the mold from the inner co-injection nozzle. The resultant molded structure contains the three layers described above, yet can be made inexpensively in a single co-injection molding operation. The enclosure may comprise multiple co-injection molded pieces, which are attached together by any of various conventional means.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for producing a pigment coating on a substrate. A hardenable polymer coating is initially provided on the substrate, followed by an excess of hardening agent. This produces a first hardened coating with sufficient hardening agent remaining to harden a second polymer coating, containing suspended pigment, which is deposited on top of the first coating. The polymer is then pyrolyzed, leaving a coating of pigment on the substrate.
