Abstract:
The invention relates to a culture substrate having thermoresponsive microgel particles that have a thermoresponsive polymer and modulator particles fixed to the carrier area of the substrate. The modulator can be a substance that has an adhesion capability with biological cells or a substance that causes cellular reactions that are inducible to binding to surface receptors of biological cells. Methods for preparation and use in culturing cells are given.
Abstract:
A substrate (10), in particular for receiving biological cells (21) comprises a substrate body (1) which has a support area (2) on which there are fixed thermoreactive microgels (3) which comprise particles containing a thermoreactive polymer. Also described are a process for the preparation of the substrate (10) and a method for culturing biological cells (21) on the substrate (10).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to flat paper products having an increased relative wet strength and softness, a method for the production of the same and also the use of paper products of this type in the form of tissue products. This is achieved by a cross-linkage of the cellulose fibres contained in the paper product with a cationic graft copolymer which is constructed on the basis of polyethyleneoxide- or polyethyleneglycol segments and polyethyleneimine segments.
Abstract:
A film for use in nonlinear optics comprises at least one Langmuir-Blodgett layer, the layer containing or comprising a dye of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 denotes a long-chain alkoxy, acyloxy, alkylamino or acylamino group. In particular when the film contains alternating layers of unsaturated amphiphilic compounds, it produces a stable multilayer having good nonlinear optical properties and is suitable, for example, for electrooptical switches, diode laser frequency amplifiers or optical parametric amplifiers.Besides the dye indicated, the unimolecular layer can additionally contain at least one second amphiphilic compound. In this case, the unimolecular layer comprises amphiphilic compounds.

Film comprising at least one unimolecular layer. A film for use in nonlinear optics comprises at least one Langmuir-Blodgett layer, the layer containing or comprising a dye of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 denotes a long-chain alkoxy, acyloxy, alkylamino or acylamino group. In particular when the film contains alternating layers of unsaturated amphiphilic compounds, it produces a stable multilayer having good monlinear optical properties and is suitable, for example, for electrooptical switches, diode laser frequency amplifiers or optical parametric amplifiers.Besides the dye indicated, the unimolecular layer can additionally contain at least one second amphiphilic compound. In this case, the unimolecular layer comprises amphiphilic compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a polymer dispersion comprising polymerising one or more water soluble anionic monomers (m1) and one or more non-ionic vinyl monomers (m2) present in a reaction mixture further comprising a polymeric stabiliser (B) and a polymeric co-stabiliser (C). It further relates to a polymer dispersion, the use of the polymer dispersion and a process for producing paper.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for preparing an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising reacting, in the presence of a polymeric cationic co-stabiliser (A), one or more monomers (m), and a polymer (B) of a monomer mixture comprising at least one monomer (x) having a primary, secondary or tertiary amine or amide group and at least one olefinic unsaturation, and, at least one catonic monomer (y) having at least one olefinic unsaturation. The invention also relates to a polymer dispersion, a process for preparing a polymeric stabiliser (C), a polymeric stabiliser (C) and a process for producing paper.
