摘要: The present invention relates to a spectrum sensing scheme for a radio network. The proposed approach involves applying sensing in a distributed fashion to obtain an estimate of the signal spectrum. A network of the multiple sensing nodes (200-1 to 200-J) obtains such a spectrum estimate without requiring high-speed analog-to-digital converter to accommodate the large band-width of interest.

摘要: An audio system comprises an ultrasound sensor array (105) which has a plurality of ultrasound sensor elements, and an audio band array (101) comprising a plurality of audio band elements. The same array of wideband audio transducers may be used for both the ultrasound sensor array (105) and the audio band array (101). An estimator (107) generates a presence characteristic of a user in response to ultrasound signals received from the ultrasound sensor array. The presence characteristic may specifically comprise a position estimate for the user. An audio array circuit (103) generates a directional response for the audio band array (101) by applying weights to individual audio band signals for the audio band elements. A weight circuit (109) determines the weights in response to the presence characteristic. The system may provide improved adaptation of the directivity of the audio band array (101) and specifically does not require the sound source in the audio band to be active for adaptation.

摘要: The invention relates to a disaggregation apparatus for identifying an appliance in an electrical network (2) comprising multiple appliances (3, 4, 5). A voltage meter (7) measures a first change in a mains voltage (V) delivered to the appliances of the electrical network, while an operational state of an appliance is modified, and a second change in the mains voltage, while a switchable load is switched. An appliance determination unit (9) determines the appliance, of which the operational state has been changed, based on the measured first change in the mains voltage, the measured second change in the mains voltage and the resistance of the switchable load. Thus, an appliance can be determined without detecting switching flickers in very short time durations, i.e. high sampling rates and continuous monitoring are not necessarily required. This reduces the technical efforts of the disaggregation apparatus for performing the disaggregation function.

摘要: The invention is based on the idea that a lighting system can utilize its sensing and control functionalities to offer dynamic load management (e.g. demand response) services in an electrical grid. The present invention optimizes dimming levels of lighting sources of a lighting system by determining a solution for an optimization problem directed to determining new dimming levels such that power consumption of the lighting devices is reduced. During the determining the solution for the optimization problem, the present invention may take into account specific guarantees on illumination rendering, acceptable to different users, and differing illumination requirements in different spaces or rooms. By the lighting control of the present invention, predictable and effective load reductions may be achieved.

摘要: A configuration unit (1) and a method for configuring a sensor (2) comprising a transmitter (4) and a plurality of receivers (6) are provided. The configuration unit is operatively connected to the transmitter and the plurality of receivers, and is adapted to estimate the location of a static element (8) based on a probing signal (5) transmitted by the transmitter and based on a return signal (7) received by the plurality of receivers. The return signal is generated by reflection of the probing signal against the static element. Moreover, the configuration unit is adapted to configure the sensor, for presence detection of a target (9), based on the estimated location of the static element.

摘要: The invention relates to an operational state determination apparatus (1) for determining whether a variation in a determined electrical parameter of an electrical network (2) is caused by a variation in an operational state of an electrical consumer of the electrical network. The electrical network comprises multiple electrical consumers (3, 4, 5) and a voltage source (6), wherein a variation classification unit (10) determines whether a variation in the determined electrical parameter of the electrical network is caused by a variation in the operational state of an electrical consumer of the network depending on a decision variable which depends on a variation in a measured voltage and a variation in a measured current of the electrical network. This determination can be performed, without directly using the variation in the determined electrical parameter of the electrical network and is therefore less influenced by random voltage fluctuations in the electrical network.
