摘要: In each of oil-retaining sheets, an end edge and side edges of a recess are separated from each other. The side edges are formed into tongue portions covered by first anti-wear meshes which prevent loosing of the side edges, and these tongue portions are maintained in sliding contact with their corresponding side walls of a guide portion of a guide rail. The end edge is covered by a second anti-wear mesh which prevents loosing of the end edge, and the second anti-wear mesh is maintained in sliding contact with an end wall of the guide portion. A gap is also formed to maintain the tongue portions and the second anti-wear mesh out of contact with each other.

摘要: The invention relates to an optical waveguide tube comprising a tubular cladding filled with a solid core having a higher refractive index than the cladding. In one form, a resin material having a Tg of up to 50.degree. C. and a modulus of elasticity of up to 10.sup.9 dyne/cm.sup.2 is used as the core. In another form, a copolymer of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or a lower alcohol ester thereof with a higher alkyl (meth)acrylate is used as the core, preferably in combination with a phosphate, aromatic carboxylate, aliphatic carboxylic acid, aliphatic carboxylate or glycol. In a third form, such an optical waveguide tube is prepared by filling a hollow tubular transparent cladding having opposite open ends with a liquid monomeric charge and causing the monomeric charge to polymerize while pressurizing the exposed surfaces of the monomeric charge inwardly from the opposite open ends along an axial direction of the cladding, thereby forming a core within the cladding.

摘要: A method of preparing a polymer having a tapered block copolymer structure. The method comprises polymerizing a first olefin monomer and a different second olefin monomer in the presence of a catalyst supporting living or quasi-living polymerization. In certain embodiments, the catalyst comprises two neutral metal complexes. In preferred embodiments, a tapered block copolymer structure is formed by adding one monomer in a single batch at the start of the polymerization reaction, and adding a second monomer throughout the course of the reaction. The present invention also provides polymers having one or more tapered block copolymer sections, and compositions based on these polymers.

摘要: In an optical waveguide tube comprising a tubular cladding filled with a solid core having a higher refractive index than the cladding, a light transmissive window member is disposed in close contact with at least the end face of the core on a light incident side for protecting the core end face from thermal influence and contamination. Means disposed around the cladding and the window member for securing the window member to the cladding may be a tape wrapped around them or a heat shrinkable sleeve or a ferrule. Alternatively, a ferrule surrounding the outer periphery of the cladding at each end is fastened for securing the cladding to the core at each end for preventing the core from projecting out of the cladding. The ferrule may have a collar disposed in abutment with the core end face.

摘要: An audio signal encoding apparatus is provided which is capable of preventing deterioration in the objective characteristics of a signal to be encoded without using parameters from a psychoacoustic model generated based on human auditory characteristics or by replacing such parameters with those by which the signal can be effectively quantized in cases where the width of a frequency band in which frequency component such as a sine wave of the signal concerned exists is narrow. The audio signal encoding apparatus includes a psychoacoustic model section 1, an MDCT processing section 2 and an iterative loop processing section 3. The psychoacoustic model section 1 includes an FFT operation section 11, a block type determination section 12 and an SMR operation section 13. The iterative loop processing section 3 includes an allowable error amount calculation section 31, a bit amount/error amount control section 32, a normalization processing section 33, a quantization section 34 and a Huffman encoding section 35. The apparatus further includes a multiplexer section 4 for multiplexing a processing block type from the block type determination section 12, a scale factor from the bit amount/error amount control section 32, a Huffman code book number and a Huffman code from the Huffman encoding section 35, a sine wave discrimination section 14a for discriminating whether or not the input signal is a sine wave, by using the FFT frequency spectrum calculated by the FFT operation section 11, and a switching element 15, 16 for switching between use and nonuse of an output value of the SMR operation section 13 based on the result of sine wave discrimination in the sine wave discrimination section 14a.

摘要: A branched type light transmission system including a plurality of light transmission tubes each comprising a flexible cylindrical cladding and a transparent core filled in the cladding and which has a higher index of refraction than the cladding. The core is made of an elastically deformable solid substance, and the plurality of light transmission tubes are bundled together at the light-incident ends thereof with a binding member and thus applied with an external pressure to deform each light transmission tube in order to minimize the clearance between the light transmission tubes.

摘要: An imaging system for use with a patrol car includes at least one image pick-up device, a memory device, and a controller. The controller executes instructions to store image information captured by the image pick-up device in the memory device. Various operating modes of the imaging system may be selected based in part upon the operating conditions of the patrol car. Recording and transmitting of the image information may be performed manually or automatically, depending upon the operator of the system and the conditions of the patrol car. Both the interior of the patrol car (i.e., rear seat), and the environment outside of the patrol car (i.e., to the front and rear of the vehicle), may be recorded by the image pick-up systems. Additionally, automatic control such as 360° views upon reaching a desired destination may be performed based upon the configuration of the imaging system.
