摘要: A CVT pulley includes a shaft having disposed thereon, a first and second sheave, and a spider. A spring biases the sheaves away from one another. The axially moveable second sheave is disposed axially between the axially fixed spider and the first sheave. A plurality of centrifugal weights, connected to either the spider or the second sheave, have a portion that moves radially outward with rotation of the shaft. The axial distance between the spider and the second sheave depends at least in part on the radial position of the portion which depends on the rotational speed. At least one cylinder is adapted to receive fluid. At least one piston, rotatable with the shaft, is adapted to move in the at least one cylinder in response to fluid being received therein, thereby selectively exerting force on one of the sheaves towards the other. CVTs and vehicles are also disclosed.

摘要: An exhaust valve assembly has a valve actuator, a first valve part (FVP) operatively connected to the actuator, a second valve part (SVP), and at least one auxiliary valve operatively connected to the second valve part. When the actuator is in a first position, the FVP is in a fourth position, the SVP is in a seventh position and the at least one auxiliary valve is in a ninth position. When the actuator is in a second position, the FVP is in a fifth position, the SVP is in the seventh position and the at least one auxiliary valve is in the ninth position. When the actuator is in a third position, the FVP is in a sixth position, the SVP is in an eighth position and the at least one auxiliary valve is in a tenth position. The second position is intermediate the first and third positions.

摘要: An exhaust valve assembly for a two-stroke internal combustion engine has a valve actuator having a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber, and a valve operatively connected to the valve actuator. The first and second pressure chambers are adapted for selectively receiving one of a first pressure and a second pressure. The first pressure is higher than the second pressure. The valve actuator moves the valve between at least a first valve position and a second valve position. The valve actuator moves the valve to the first valve position when the first pressure is supplied to the first pressure chamber and the second pressure is supplied to the second pressure chamber. The valve actuator moves the valve to the second valve position when the second pressure is supplied to the first pressure chamber and the first pressure is supplied to the second pressure chamber.

摘要: A drivetrain for a hybrid vehicle has at least one ground engaging element, a torque transmission shaft operatively connected thereto, an electric motor, a transmission having an input shaft and an output shaft, and an internal combustion engine operatively connected to the input shaft of the transmission. The electric motor and the output shaft are operatively connected to the torque transmission shaft. The transmission has a neutral shift position, a first shift position, and at least one higher shift position including a highest shift position. The transmission is capable of shifting directly from the neutral shift position to the first shift position and directly from the neutral shift position to the highest shift position. A vehicle having the drivetrain is also disclosed. A method of starting an internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle is also disclosed.

摘要: A method for changing a gear driving configuration of a discrete gear transmission (DGT) in a powertrain including an engine operatively connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The DGT has a DGT input shaft operatively connected to a CVT driven pulley, a plurality of gears having a plurality of gear driving configurations and a DGT output shaft selectively operatively connected to the DGT input shaft based on the gear driving configuration. Responsive to a gear shift request, a target driven pulley speed is determined for synchronizing the DGT input shaft with the DGT output shaft for the desired gear driving configuration. The engine is controlled to change an engine speed to the target engine speed corresponding to the determined target driven pulley speed. Responsive to the DGT input shaft being synchronized with the DGT output shaft, the current gear driving configuration is changed to the desired gear driving configuration.

摘要: An aircraft propeller drive system has a gear to be driven by an engine and having a first plurality of teeth. A torsion bar has a first end driven by the gear and a second end rotatable relative to the first end about a torsion axis by a torsion angle. An output shaft is driven by the second end and is adapted for connection to a propeller. A clutch has a driven member rotationally fixed to the output shaft and a driving member having a second plurality of teeth. The first and second pluralities of teeth engage each other when a variation in the torsion angle from a mean torsion angle is greater than a predetermined angle. Torque is transferred between the gear and the output shaft via the clutch when the first and second pluralities of teeth engage each other.
