Abstract:
A method for operating a navigation device comprising a central processing unit (100) and a memory medium (130) with a digitized map is disclosed. The method comprises the following steps: inputting a route with start and target coordinates that can be selected on the map; receiving traffic jam data via an external source (140); displaying a calculated route and the respective traffic jam data; and editing said traffic jam data. In the case of acceptance of a traffic jam a possible bypass of the corresponding route section is calculated and displayed, and in the case of non-acceptance the calculated route section is maintained.
Abstract:
An idling control for an Otto engine comprises a throttle valve positioned in a suction pipe of an engine intake manifold; a pneumatic cylinder unit operably engaged with said throttle valve by means of a positioning leg; a three-way flow control valve in fluid communication with said pneumatic cylinder unit, said valve having respective input conduits for atmospheric pressure and vacuum, and having means for alternatively transmitting said atmospheric pressure and said vacuum to said pneumatic cylinder unit, said transmitting means including opposing coils and a pulse generator having an adjustable pulse duty factor, said coils being connected to push-pull outputs of said pulse generator, the alternative positions of said control valve being determined in accordance with said duty factor, said duty factor being applied to said opposing coils simultaneously; said three-way flow control valve further includes valve seats for said input conduits and a membrane-like, freely-movable ferromagnetic valve plate having non-magnetic surface layers cooperable with said valve seats; and means for adjusting said pulse duty factor in accordance with engine operating parameters.
Abstract:
A route planning system is provided with various interlinked facilities, including a user I/O facility, a route planning facility, a position determination facility, and a destination table facility. Under control of a set of start and/or destination requests from a user person a route plan to be traveled is generated. In particular, the system further includes a driving habit assessment facility for assessing a particular user person's driving habits as additional input data for the route planning facility. On the basis of averaging the user person's driving habits the route generation is influenced in the time domain and/or in the spatial domain.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for producing a surgical sponge which contains contrast agent embedded in a polymer matrix in proportions of up to 70 wt. %. The matrix consists of a polymer material free of plasticizers. In the process for the production of the sponge a matrix for the contrast agent is used, which is an uncrosslinked, viscous liquid, prepolymer state until after it has been extruded onto the basic fleece material, and not until a process step that then follows is the polymerization completed.
Abstract:
A nozzle ring (10) for a radial turbine is described. The nozzle ring includes a disc-shaped main body (11) having a central opening (12) for passing a shaft there through. Additionally, the nozzle ring includes guide vanes (14) disposed circumferentially in a radially outer portion on a first surface (11A) of the main body (11). Two or more bores (17) are provided in a radially inner portion el of the main body (11). Further, a groove (171) is provided in the first surface (11A) of the main body (11), the groove (171) connecting at least two of the two of more bores (17).
Abstract:
An auxiliary adjusting device for a rolling mill stand includes a adjusting shaft, a cylindrical member forming an adjusting spindle and having a first outer thread cooperating with the inner thread of a support sleeve fixedly connected to the cross-beam, and a central recess provided with longitudinal teeth, a carrier secured to a bottom of the cross-beam, projecting into the central recess of the cylindrical member, and carrying, at its end side, a tooth gear that functions as a planet gear that cooperates, on one hand, with a tooth gear secured at an end of the adjusting shaft which extends through the carrier, and serving as a sun gear, and, on another hand, with the longitudinal teeth of the central recess of the cylindrical member, and an adjusting pressure sleeve connected with the support sleeve for longitudinal displacement relative thereto but without a possibility of rotation relative thereto.
Abstract:
A composite material, including a laminate (1) made of a film (5) bonded to a nonwoven (7), wherein the nonwoven (7) and the film (5) are only bonded together at discrete points and the laminate (1) is stretched in at least one direction after being formed.
Abstract:
A textile composite material is used as tuft backing for tufted carpets, the composite material having at least one nonwoven fabric on which exclusively parallel-running, straight, load-absorbing, plastic, continuous filaments are rascheled, and a thin binding yarn serving as a knitting chain fixing the continuous filaments in position.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an apparatus for determining the rheological properties of sedimenting suspensions. More particularly, this invention relates to a method and apparatus which permits the accurate determination of the rheological properties of particulate suspensions in which the particles are settling. An apparatus for evaluating the rheological properties of sedimenting suspensions comprising: (a) a sedimenting suspension retainer; (b) a device means suspended in the retainer, the retainer and suspended device being capable of being rotated relative to one another, the device being permeable to the passage of particles settling in the sedimenting suspension, the suspended device being suspended in the sedimenting suspension in the retainer in the region having constant density.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electronic device having a rotary switch and a display screen for displaying information. It is the object of the invention further to develop such a device to the effect that it permits operation which is as universal as possible and simple. The invention is defined by the fact that the rotary switch is provided for the two-dimensional movement of at least one display element of the display screen, that a rotary movement of the rotary switch is provided for selecting the direction of movement of the display element, and that a first axial movement of the rotary switch is provided for moving the display element in the selected direction of movement.
