摘要: Properties of liquid flowing through a Venturi tube, operating characteristics of the Venturi tube, geometry of the Venturi tube, and correlation between Reynolds number and coefficient of discharge for the Venturi tube are used to determine a flow rate of liquid or liquid/liquid mixture in the Venturi tube. Determination of the Reynolds number is reiterated to increase the accuracy of the liquid flow rate measurement in the Venturi tube. The liquid flow rate in the Venturi tube is monitored to control the liquid flow.

摘要: A process involves sequentially treating a plurality of lipid feedstocks comprising a set of lipid feedstocks each having a chloride content of at least about 2 ppm with a metal oxide catalyst on an oxide support under first treating conditions to produce respective treated streams of the set of lipid feedstocks having a chloride content less than 1 ppm until a given one of the respective treated streams has a chloride content greater than 1 ppm and the metal oxide catalyst is converted to a spent metal oxide catalyst, converting the spent metal oxide catalyst to a rejuvenated metal oxide catalyst, and treating one or more additional lipid feedstocks each having a chloride content of at least about 2 ppm with the rejuvenated metal oxide catalyst under second treating conditions to produce one or more respective treated streams each having a chloride content less than 1 ppm.

摘要: A method of making a cement composite can include contacting an aqueous solution comprising calcium ions with a carbon dioxide source producing a carbonated aqueous solution. Fine particles can be submerged in the carbonated aqueous solution to produce microaggregate particles comprising the fine particles coated with calcium carbonate. The microaggregate particles can be combined with cement particles to produce the cement composite. The cement composite can be used in cementing applications for hydrocarbon wells including for casing liners and well plugs.

摘要: An improved hydrotreating catalyst and process for making a base oil product. The catalyst comprises a base extrudate of a high nanopore volume amorphous silica alumina (ASA) and alumina. The catalyst and process use a high nanopore volume ASA/alumina based catalyst to produce hydrotreated dewaxed base oil products from a hydrocarbon feedstock. The base extrudate comprises ASA having a pore volume in the 11-20 nm pore diameter range of 0.2 to 0.9 cc/g and an alumina having a pore volume in the 11-20 nm pore diameter range of 0.01 to 1.0 cc/g. The base extrudate formed has a total pore volume in the 2-50 nm pore diameter range of 0.12 to 1.80 cc/g. The catalyst further comprises at least one modifier element from Groups 6 to 10 and Group 14 of the Periodic Table. The catalyst and process provide improved aromatics saturation.

摘要: A method for identifying shut-ins of a well may include obtaining raw pressure values captured over a period of time, where each of the raw pressure values indicates a pressure at a bottom hole of the well; applying filters to the raw pressure values to generate a plurality of filtered pressure values; identifying initial sequences having monotonically trending values among the plurality of filtered pressure values; splicing adjacent initial sequences; adjusting the start point of at least one of the initial sequences based on derivatives of the filtered pressure values; applying a parametric function to the initial sequences to generate fitted sequences; and applying a pattern recognition to the fitted sequences to generate final sequences.
