摘要: An apparatus and method control fix levels in a printing apparatus. The apparatus can include a media transport configured to transport a media sheet having marking material on at least a first side of the media sheet. The apparatus can include a media sheet rub module configured to rub a rub material against the first side of the media sheet. The apparatus can include a sensor configured to sense marking material on the rub material, the marking material rubbed from the first side of the media sheet onto the rub material. The apparatus can include a controller configured to determine a fix level of marking material on the media sheet based on the sensed marking material on the rub material, the fix level indicating how well the marking material is affixed to the media sheet.

摘要: A fixed image gloss control system outputs a warm pressure-fixed image having a low gloss level. The image is alterable to change the low gloss level to a high gloss level or an intermediate gloss level. The fixing system includes a pressure roll and a fixing roll that together form a fixing nip. The pressure roll has a polyurethane contact surface. A polishing mechanism may polish the fused image to achieve a desired gloss level.

摘要: A system is provided for fixing first and second images on opposite sides of a piece of media. The system has an image forming section for forming at least the first image on the piece of media; and a pressure fixing section for fixing the images to the piece of media. The pressure fixing section has first and second rotating members that do not include a thermal energy source, the second member being located proximate the first member such that a gap exists between the first member and the second member, the gap being for receiving the piece of media, and a force applying device that applies force to at least one of the first member and the second member to apply pressure to the piece of media when the piece of media is located in the gap such that the first and second images are simultaneously fixed to the piece of media by the pressure.

摘要: Various techniques are described for resource management on a computing platform. A computing platform can receive a query message that specifies an amount of a resource proposed for allocation. The computing platform can select a selected recommendation level from a plurality of recommendation levels, based on an evaluation of a request for the amount of the resource proposed for allocation. The computing platform can generate a resource allocation recommendation that includes the selected recommendation level with respect to the amount of the resource proposed for allocation. The computing platform can send the resource allocation recommendation.

摘要: A process and catalyst for isomerizing olefins are disclosed. The process and catalyst are particularly useful for isomerizing alkenyl bridged ring compounds to the corresponding alkyladiene bridged ring compounds. In one embodiment, the isomerization catalyst comprises an oxygen treated mixture of an alkali metal on a dried support having a surface area of 125 to 195 m.sup.2 /g when the support consists essentially of alumina wherein the alumina precursor is a large crystallite pseudoboehmite. The catalyst is particularly useful for isomerizing 5-vinyl-2-norbornene to 5-ethylidiene-2-norbornene. The catalyst is very active and highly selective and resistant to catalyst poisons. The process contacts the catalyst with an alkenyl bridged ring compound and yields the corresponding alkyladiene bridged ring compound.

摘要: A radiation filter insert is provided. The glasses filter insert includes a first filter lens and a second filter lens, each having an inner surface and an outer surface. The first and second filter lens may include an electromagnetic filter. The present invention may include a bridge connector. The bridge connector may connect the first and second filter lenses together. The bridge connector may include a curved inner edge formed to fit around a nosepiece of an eyewear. The filtering insert may include resting tabs to allow the insert to remain in position on the eyewear. The filtering insert may further include grasping tabs. The grasping tabs allow placement using the thumb an index finger of one hand. These resting and grasping tabs enables insertion and removal without displacing the eyewear. Therefore, a user may wear a pair of protective glasses and may insert the radiation filter insert in between the protective eyewear and the user, thereby shielding the user from electromagnetic energy or enabling its screening qualities.
