摘要: Firearms being used by non-authorized individuals have been the cause of the death of many innocent people. Guns and rifles are relatively easy to obtain illegally though black markets or by stealing from relatives and acquaintances of registered firearm owners and there is no adequate methods of restricting their operation after they are not controlled by the owner. The current disclosure describes an apparatus and system for remotely monitoring the location, movement and operational status of a firearm and report the status to the firearm owner. Alternatively, the system will track the firearms location and status and report to a central authority when the firearm is fired. This method of operation can be used to notify a central authority to provide backup for an officer under fire. Shots fired and shots heard are detected using acoustic time of flight and sound signature analysis. The detection apparatus being contained within the firearm. In addition, the system uses multiple communication channels to connect with the central authority or firearm owner, including cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Lora wan. These communication channels may send firearm discharge information through the cellular or land line 911 system.

摘要: Systems and methods for performing financial transactions are provided. In one embodiment, the invention provides a method for processing token data for a bank card transaction, the method includes: receiving a string of first token data from a token at a token reader; modifying the first token data and generating second token data, the second token data including modified token data; performing a modulo arithmetic operation on the second token data and determining a mod 10 check digit that will cause a modulo arithmetic check of the second token data to yield the same result as the modulo arithmetic check would yield on the first token data; and inserting the mod 10 check digit in the second data string and forwarding the second data string for the transaction.

摘要: Systems and methods for enciphering data are provided. In one embodiment, information is enciphered using a variable block length cipher that returns the encrypted symbol set in the same format as the plaintext symbol set. The cipher can be based on DES, AES or other block ciphers. In one example implementation a method for enciphering token information the invention provides for enciphering token information by constructing a tweak of a defined length using token information; converting the tweak to a bit string of a defined size to form a first parameter; converting a number of digits of plaintext to a byte string of a defined size to form a second parameter, wherein the number of digits converted varies; defining a data encryption standard key; applying the data encryption standard key to the first and second parameters; computing a specified number of encryption rounds; and receiving enciphered token information.

摘要: A secure magnetic stripe card stripe reader (MSR) module and software system capable of encrypting the magnetic stripe data to CPI, SDP and CISP standards for use in point of sale (POS) and other applications requiring data security using non secure networks and computing devices. Additionally, when incorporated within an attachment for conventional personal digital assistant (PDA) or cell phone or stationary terminal, provides encrypted data from the magnetic head assembly providing compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards Publication Series FIPS 140 covering security and tampering standards. Moreover, this module and software system includes the capability of providing secure POS transactions to legacy transaction processing systems and POS terminals transparently to the existing infrastructure. Furthermore, this module and software system includes the capability of transparently providing detection of fraudulently copied magnetic stripe cards.

摘要: A method and apparatus for reading data from a track of a magnetic stripe are provided. According to one implementation, the method provides detecting a magnetic transition on the track by each of a plurality of read mechanisms arranged in a plurality of columns across the track; determining an epoch for each detection of the transition by the plurality of read mechanisms; and characterizing the magnetic stripe based on the epochs determined for the transition detections. The apparatus can include a plurality of read mechanisms arranged so as to be oriented in a plurality of columnar arrays across the track when the track is moved relative to the arrays; and detection circuitry coupled to the read mechanisms.

摘要: A method and apparatus for determining the distance between transitions from a first logical state to a second logical state stored on a medium (i.e., a document). This determination is used to precisely characterize the information pattern in order to authenticate the information and the medium on which the information is stored. The invention uses a reader having a leading and trailing read apparatus which allow information to be read simultaneously from two or more locations spaced a known distance apart. The distance between the centerlines of each read apparatus is preferably an odd integer multiple of one half the distance between logical clock transitions. The distance between a first transition at the leading read apparatus and a next transition at the trailing read apparatus is used as a reference (i.e., the “Reference Value”). The Reference Value is compared with the distance between the first transition and the next transition on the medium (i.e., the “Jitter Value”). Detection of an deviations in spacing between transitions is unaffected by variations in the velocity of the medium with respect to the reader.

摘要: A magnetic stripe card manual swipe reader (MSR) unit capable of attaching to and communicating with a conventional personal digital assistant (PDA) from various manufacturers, using only the electrical power available as supplied by the PDA device, and capable of effective electrical power management and conservation operations. Additionally, this PDA attachable MSR unit is capable of recognizing multiple magnetic encoding formats and data record formats and converting said formats to a standardized output format, includes the capability of updating and adding new formats while in field service, and is readily allows verifying card data and encoding sensitive material prior to transmission to the PDA. These custom formats can then be used to fulfill current needs in age verification, law enforcement, security, and numerous other applications.
