摘要: Systems and methods for automatic generation of one or more outcome measures are disclosed. The outcome measures may be displayed as a single one page summary, which may be provided to a specialty physician or other medical professionals. Additionally, the outcome measures summary may be reviewed independently, and/or integrated with existing electronic medical reports, and may be used to initiate other medical activities, such as e-prescriptions and/or medical insurance authorization.

摘要: A method and apparatus for providing a Medicare Part D Pharmacy Benefits Calculator. A user inputs data for prescriptions to be purchased by a prospective insured for a plan period. The prescription data includes a quantity, a days supply, and a number of fills. The data for each prescription the user enters is used to calculate anticipated out-of-pocket costs for the prescriptions for one or more pharmacy benefits plans available to the prospective insured. The cost data is presented to the user in a way that illustrates how out-of-pocket costs will vary over the course of a plan period. The user may view costs for alternative drugs and alternatives sources of drugs. The user may vary and expand the presentation of the cost data to better understand the available plan benefits. The invention helps prospective insureds decide among alternative Medicare Part D pharmacy benefits plans offered by one or more insurance companies.

摘要: Compositions comprising a blend of two or more paper strengthening agents have improved stability compared with previously known paper strengthening agents. One component is a polymeric paper strengthening agent, preferably a wet strengthening agent. The other component is a stabilized glyoxalated polyacrylamide prepared by (1) reacting a first portion of glyoxal with a polyacrylamide having pendant amide groups to form a first reaction mixture comprising glyoxalated polyacrylamide; (2) adding an acid to the first reaction mixture to form a second reaction mixture having a reduced pH and comprising the glyoxalated polyacrylamide; and (3) adding a second portion of glyoxal to the second reaction mixture to form the stabilized glyoxalated polyacrylamide. If desired, an aldehyde scavenger can be included in one or more of step (1), step (2), step (3), or the stabilized glyoxalated polyacrylamide. Such compositions can be used to enhance the strength of paper, particularly the wet strength of paper.

摘要: This invention includes a speakerphone accessory suitable for connection to either a battery charger having a phone in its pocket or to a cellular telephone. The speakerphone module includes a hemispherical upper housing. The upper housing includes a circular dimple aperture and a wave directing cap. The hemispherical shape, aperture and cap all contribute to directing acoustic waved generated by a speaker disposed within the housing radially from the module in all directions. One embodiment of the module includes a second terminal for passing data and power through the module, allowing the module to be coupled serially between devices. The module also includes a bottom housing having a generally hemispherical shape. The bottom housing provides stability to the connection between the module and a peripheral device in that it reduces the mechanical advantage given to forces incident upon the upper housing acting upon the main terminal.

摘要: Method and assay devices for the detection of the presence or amount of biological material, analyte(s), or microorganism(s) in a sample. The method includes the steps of liquefying the sample (if necessary) and distributing the liquefied sample over the surface of the assay device. The device may comprise an incubation plate, a dip stick device, or other devices. The devices have at least one reagent provided within the devices. Some devices have a generally flat horizontal surface which is divided into a plurality of recessed wells. Others have one or more surfaces with reagent island(s) immobilized thereon. Each well or reagent island is adapted to hold an aliquot of liquid. The wells or reagent islands are sized and shaped, and formed of a suitable material, to hold the aliquot within the well or reagent island by surface tension. Any excess liquid from the liquefied sample is drained from the surface of the device. The method then involves incubating the assay device until the presence or amount of the biological material, analyte, or microorganism is determined.
