A process to stabilize a polymer is described utilizing the step of adding a phosphite reaction product of a triphenyl phosphite or lower molecular weight trialkyl phosphite (e.g., trimethyl phosphite) or triaryl phosphite, with from approximately 1 to 2 moles of preferably a paracumyl phenol, and with from approximately 1 to 2 moles of at least C12-20 carbon alkyl or C12-20 alkenyl alcohol. In one embodiment of the invention, the phosphite reaction product is formula (I) wherein R1 is independently selected from the group consisting of H and C1-2 alkyls; R2 is independently selected from the group defined previously for R1; x is an integral value ranging from 0 to 4 inclusive; y is an integral value ranging from 0 to 4 inclusive; n is an integral value ranging from 1 to 2; R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of C12-20 alkyl or C12-20 alkenyl; R4 is independently selected from the group consisting of C1-10, alkyl and C9-15 arylalkyl; R5 is independently selected from the group defined previously for R4.

The present invention is directed towards a method for racking or unracking pipe to or from a rack and a device to facilitate the process. The method provides a controllable procedure for inserting or withdrawing the pipe that is less dangerous than prior art methods and does not damage the pipe end. The method entails inserting a pipe gripper having an expansion sleeve into an accessible end of a pipe. The expansion sleeve is forced against an inner wall of the pipe, coupling the pipe gripper to the pipe. Depending upon the application, the pipe is then either pushed fully onto the rack or is pulled partially off the rack. For unracking operations, a crane sling is attached to the partially unracked pipe and the pipe is further manipulated off the rack.

This invention pertains to low-shrink polyester molding resin mixtures primarily based on a certain low-shrink thermoplastic additive produced by synthesizing the vinyl copolymer thermoplastic additive in a hydroxyl terminated polymeric diluent. The resulting vinyl copolymer is dispersed in the hydroxyl containing polymeric diluent which can be post reacted with isocyanate material to produce a polyurethane-vinyl copolymer thermoplastic additive. This thermoplastic additive can be added directly to the thermosetting polyester polymer and monomer mixture to provide a low-shrink molding resin system.

This invention pertains to a pigmentable, low-shrink molding composition based on thermosetting, unsaturated polyester resin in combination with lightly cross-linked polymer particles. The lightly cross-linked polymer particles have a particle size preferably between about 20 microns to 50 microns and can be selected from lightly cross-linked condensation polymers and lightly cross-linked addition polymers. In a preferred aspect of the invention the lightly cross-linked polymer particles contain minor amounts of pendant reactive groups selected from amino and oxirane groups to produce a one-pack stabilized low-shrink molding resin mixture. The pigmentable, low-shrink molding compositions are stabilized dispersions containing pigments dispersed therein in conjunction with thermosetting polyester polymer, monomer, and lightly cross-linked polymer particles as well as fillers to provide a pigmentable low-shrink molding composition which cures to uniformly pigmented low-profiled molded part.

The invention pertains to chlorine-free extreme pressure metalworking fluid additives and lies in the recognition of the improved hydrolytic stability of alkanoic acid esters of cyclohexane dimethanol and other esters embodying similar structures. The various derivatives which are effective as extreme pressure additives include those which fall within the generic description ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 through R.sup.4 are independently selected from the group hydrogen and C.sub.1-24 hydrocarbyl groups and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are independently selected from the group C.sub.3-24 hydrocarbyl groups.
