Abstract: A lubricant composition includes (a) a hydrocarbon oil including at least 30% wt of isoparaffins, based on the total weight of the hydrocarbon oil, and (b) an alkoxylated natural oil. A method of using the lubricant composition in a water-based composition, in particular a water-based mud, to improve the lubricity and/or to reduce the foaming properties of the water-based composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of providing a novel additive for surface activation and an emulsion composition using same, in which an excellent emulsion stability is obtained. The present invention also addresses the problem of improving the usage feel in a cosmetic and the lubrication performance in a lubricant. This additive for surface activation is one in which the following components (A) and (B) are compounded. (A) An amine or ammonium compound having a hydroxyaliphatic hydrocarbon group that contains one or more hydroxy groups and optionally contains an oxygen atom unassociated with the hydroxy groups; and (B) an unsaturated or branched aliphatic acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms or a salt thereof. In addition, this emulsion composition is one in which the above additive has been added.

Abstract: A tribological system, including a main body and a sandwich lubrication, wherein the sandwich lubrication includes a binder-free solid lubricant layer including a solid lubricant, and a lubricant layer including a lubricant. The binder-free solid lubricant layer and the lubricant layer are present as separate layers on the main body and the mass ratio of solid lubricant to lubricant is at most 0.05:1. The solid lubricant includes polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), metal sulfide, graphite, graphene, boron nitride (hexagonal), calcium phosphate, silicate, layered silicate, or mixtures thereof.

Abstract: The present invention provides a water-soluble metalworking oil composition, including: 5.0 to 20.0 mass % of a sulfur compound (A) that is one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of a sulfurized fat and oil and a sulfurized ester and has a kinematic viscosity of 10 to 800 mm2/s at 40° C.; 0.5 to 20.0 mass % of the nonionic surfactant (B) having an HLB of 6 to 18; 7.0 to 30.0 mass % of an unsaturated fatty acid polymer (C); and an amine compound (D) selected from the group consisting of a tertiary amine and a secondary amine.

Abstract: The present invention provides an application of nano copper in a cutting fluid. The nano copper is self-dispersible nano copper with an organic long-carbon chain, wherein the surface of copper metal is coated with a long carbon chain organic matter, and the long chain organic matter is dialkyl dithiophosphoric acid (HDDP) and a derivative thereof. In the present invention, the nano copper substitutes functional additives which comprises one or more of a preservative, an anti-rust agent, a sterilizing agent, a compression-resisting agent and a lubricant to solve the technical problems of the existing fluid in the prior art being unable to simultaneously have efficient anti-corrosion, anti-rust, compression-resistant, lubricating and sterilizing properties as well as the variety, the relatively high amount, the high cost and the limited selection of added additives.

Abstract: A wellbore servicing fluid comprises an aqueous base fluid, one or more alkali metal or alkali earth metal salts, at least one visocisifier, and a filtration control package. The filtration control package may comprise a carboxylic acid and an ethoxylated alcohol compound. Alternatively, the filtration control package may comprise a polyethylene glycol. The carboxylic acid may have from 8 to 20 carbon atoms. The ethoxylated alcohol compound may have a general formula R—(OCH2CH2)X—OH, where R is a hydrocarbon having from 10 to 16 atoms and x is an integer from 6 to 9. The ethoxylated alcohol compound may have a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of from 8.0 to 16.0. The polyethylene glycol may have a mass average molar mass (Mw) of less than or equal to 1500 daltons.

Abstract: A composition and method for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force of a wire or cable are provided. A composition of aqueous emulsion is provided that is environmentally friendly, halogen free and solvent free. The composition is compatible with various types of insulating materials and may be applied after the wire or cable is cooled and also by spraying or submerging the wire or cable in a bath. The composition contains lubricating agents that provide lower coefficient of friction for wire or cable installation and continuous wire or cable surface lubrication thereafter.
