The present invention is directed to aqueous polyurethane dispersions and aqueous polyurethane-acrylic dispersions, especially polymer dispersions formed from norbornane diisocyanate. The dispersions, and the dried polymers therefrom, are useful adhesives that provide enhanced bond strength when subjected to increased thermal and mechanical stress. Additionally, the inventive dispersions form polymers having increased adhesion compared to similar polymers based on cycloaliphatic diisocyanates which are free of a methylene bridge.

A process for the preparation of sulfonated polyurethane-urea polymers, which are useful film to film laminating adhesives for flexible packaging in which the urethane-urea polymer component has no amide linkages. The water-based sulfonated polyurethane prepolymers are processed at reduced temperatures and are substantially free of volatile and/or leachable contaminants.

Disclosed are therapeutic methods for the treatment of disease material involving administration of a thermotherapeutic magnetic composition, which contains single-domain magnetic particles attached to a target-specific ligand, to a patient and application of an alternating magnetic field to inductively heat the thermotherapeutic magnetic composition. Also disclosed are methods of administering the thermotherapeutic magnetic material composition. The thermotherapeutic methods may be used where the predetermined target is associated with diseases, such as cancer, diseases of the immune system, and pathogen-borne diseases, and undesirable targets, such as toxins, reactions associated with organ transplants, hormone-related diseases, and non-cancerous diseased cells or tissue.
