Abstract:
The present invention relates to an illumination spectrum estimation method in which an illumination spectrum is calculated on the basis of weather information.
Abstract:
There is provided an optical storage device that can position a lens carriage and objective lens even when position sensors for the lens carriage and objective lens are excluded in an effort to make an optical disk unit thinner. In the optical storage device, immediately after an optical disk is loaded in a main body, the cutoff frequency of a filter lying on a path of a reproduction signal is temporarily changed to a lower frequency. A spacing of sectors of the optical disk is detected using a signal sent from the filter. A type of an optical storage medium and a position of a current reproduction track are detected on the basis of the detected sector spacing and data stored in a memory.
Abstract:
To provide a balloon catheter and an apparatus and method for manufacturing the balloon catheter, whereby the degree of welding can be appropriately adjusted and the balloon catheter can be formed so as to have a desired surface profile suitable for various uses including medical use. With a shaft 14 inserted through a catheter tube 30a inserted into an end portion 28b of a balloon and also with a pressure tube 32a fitted around a welding section where the end portion 28b of the balloon 28 is lapped over the catheter tube 30a, the shaft 14 is heated by emitting laser light from a laser radiation unit 8 to the welding section while the shaft 14 is rotated by a chuck, to weld the welding section.
Abstract:
A data processing device connected with a data supply device for performing predetermined data processing includes: a communication control unit for controlling communication with the data supply device; a data processing unit for performing the data processing based on input data received from the data supply device; and a device control unit for performing predetermined processing in correspondence with command data received from the data supply device based on the command data. The communication control unit receives the input data and the command data each of which is contained in a packet having a common fixed length from the data supply device. When an identification part at a predetermined position in the reception packet received from the data supply device is set at a predetermined command identification value indicating the command data, the communication control unit supplies data contained in the reception packet to the device control unit. When the identification part is set at a value different from the command identification value, the communication control unit supplies data contained in the reception packet to the data processing unit. The device control unit uses the remaining part in the reception packet other than the identification part as the command data. The data processing unit uses the remaining part as the input data.

Abstract:
An overloaded routines resolving method of analyzing an invocation for the group of overloaded routines to determine the routine to be called, the method including: the routine group sorting step of sorting the group of routines on the basis of the predetermined precedence; the reference utilization pruning step of determining the routine which has the highest precedence of a data type of an argument from among the routines which can be called for the types in the definition of the arguments of the invocation from the sorted routines and of deleting any of the routines each of which has the lower precedence than that of the routine thus determined from the candidates; and the sort order characteristic pruning step of comparing the data types of the arguments among the routines which still remain after having executed the reference utilization pruning step to delete any of the routines each of which has no possibility of being called from the candidates. From the foregoing, the necessary minimum candidate can be selected efficiently in the overloaded routines resolution which is carried out when analyzing the query for the database.
Abstract:
A CO.sub.2 gas laser device comprises a plurality of divided cathode electrodes disposed in a linear row extending transversely across a high-speed flow of a gas containing CO.sub.2, and parts of the cathode electrodes producing negative glow are disposed at the same height as anodes at a downstream position. Additionally, a device for controlling the distribution of gas flow velocity, which functions doubly as means for creating turbulent flow, and a preliminary discharge electrode are disposed on the upstream side of the cathode electrodes, the former being set at a height position corresponding substantially to that of the middle portions of the cathode electrodes.
Abstract:
A projector, that projects an image on a projection surface in accordance with an image signal, includes: an optical system that includes a light source and projects projection light representing the image; an optical sensor that receives the light from the projection surface; and an adjuster that carries out a first adjustment process of adjusting the brightness of the projection light in accordance with the output from the optical sensor before the light source illuminates.
