Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, an apparatus comprises a processor to monitor cache utilization of an application during execution of the application for a workload; and a memory to store cache utilization statistics responsive to the monitored cache utilization. The processor is to determine an optimal cache configuration for the application based at least in part on the cache utilization statistics for the workload such that a smallest amount of cache is turned on for subsequent executions of the workload by the application.

Abstract: A vehicular electrochromic rearview mirror system includes an interior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly and at least one exterior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly. Each mirror assembly includes an electrochromic reflective element that assumes a partial reflectance level in response to a signal applied thereto. A drive circuit applies a drive signal to each of the electrochromic reflective elements. The drive circuit may include a digital controller, a master drive circuit responsive to the digital controller to apply a first drive signal to one of the electrochromic reflective elements and a slave drive circuit responsive to the digital controller to apply a second drive signal to a second of the electrochromic reflective elements. The second drive signal may be derived from the first drive signal. The drive circuit may include a digital controller and a switching power supply controlled by the digital controller to produce a drive signal.

Abstract: A system for sensing ambient conditions in a compartment, such as the trunk of an automobile, generates a control signal in response to the sensed conditions. This control signal actuates indicators to notify operators of the vehicle that there is a person trapped in the trunk. The control signal is also used to actuate a lamp inside the trunk to provide light for the trapped person. A trunk release is also actuated, by a control module, to free the trapped person. The trunk release of the automobile can be prevented from being actuated if the automobile is moving, which prevents the trunk lid from unexpectedly opening while the vehicle is in motion.

Abstract: A vehicular electrochromic rearview mirror system is provided including an interior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly and at least one exterior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly. The interior rearview mirror assembly has an interior electrochromic reflective element that assumes a partial reflectance level in response to a first drive signal applied thereto. The exterior rearview mirror assembly has an exterior electrochromic reflective element that assumes a partial reflectance level in response to a second drive signal applied thereto. A drive circuit is provided that supplies a first drive signal to the interior electrochromic reflective element and a second drive signal to the exterior electrochromic reflective element. The drive circuit variably controls a relationship between the partial reflectance levels of the interior reflective element and the exterior electrochromic reflective element by a control signal. The interior electrochromic reflective element has a partial reflectance level that is greater than or equal to the partial reflectance level of the exterior electrochromic reflective element.

Abstract: A vacuum fluorescent display driver and method for driving a vacuum display device includes a segment selecting circuit which selectively applies a potential of a particular polarity to a segment to illuminate that segment and a grid driver circuit which applies a potential of that polarity to the grid in order to illuminate the device. A filament supply supplies a current to the filament during a first portion of a duty cycle in order to heat the filament and applies a potential of polarity opposite to that applied to the filament during a second portion of the duty cycle in order to produce a potential between the filament, the grid, and any segment which is selected sufficient to illuminate the selected segments. Abstract: A safety sensing and/or release system for a closed compartment of a vehicle is operable to detect an occupant within the vehicle compartment. The system may be operable to sense ambient conditions in the vehicle compartment, and may generate a control signal in response to the sensed conditions. The system may actuate indicators to notify operators of the vehicle that there is a person or animal detected in the compartment. Optionally, the system may open the vehicle compartment in response to a detection of an occupant and the sensed conditions. The safety system includes a false trigger protection means that limits or reduces false detections of a person or animal within the compartment.
