摘要: A multi-step signing system and method uses multiple signing devices to affix a single signature which can be verified using a single public verification key. Each signing device possesses a share of the signature key and affixes a partial signature in response to authorization from a plurality of authorizing agents. In a serial embodiment, after a first partial signature has been affixed, a second signing device exponentiates the first partial signature. In a parallel embodiment, each signing device affixes a partial signature, and the plurality of partial signatures are multiplied together to form the final signature. Security of the system is enhanced by distributing capability to affix signatures among a plurality of signing devices and by distributing authority to affix a partial signature among a plurality of authorizing agents.

摘要: A mixture of fuel and air is introduced onto a catalytic combustion surface, preferably an inert, refractory substrate coated with trace amounts of a catalyst. Combustion is normally initiated by an ignition device, and proceeds spontaneously once the minimum temperature has been reached. Water is introduced directly onto the heated combustion surface, in metered quantities to prevent cooling below the desired minimum combustion temperature, thus generating a continuous flow of steam at a pressure equal to the inlet pressure of the air, fuel and water. The quantities of air, fuel and water may be varied proportionately to produce rapid variation in the volume, temperature and pressure of the steam generated, a function that may be greatly facilitated by the choice of a combustion element having a low thermal mass. Both the catalytic combustion of fuel and the vaporization of inert working fluids can occur over a wide range of temperature and pressure conditions.

摘要: The present invention is directed to aquatic systems and methods for off-shore energy production, and particularly to systems and methods for generating large amounts of methane via anaerobic digestion, purifying the methane produced, and sequestering environmentally deleterious by-products such as carbon dioxide. The energy production systems contain one or more flexible, inflatable containers supported by water, at least one of which is an anaerobic digester containing bacteria which can produce energy sources such as methane or hydrogen from aquatic plants or animals. The containers of the present invention can be large enough to provide adequate amounts of energy to support off-shore activities yet are relatively easy to manufacture and ship to remote production sites. The systems can also be readily adapted to sequester carbon dioxide or recycle nutrients for growing feedstocks on site.

摘要: A false banking, credit card, and ecommerce system provides a family of inter-related computer software programs and processes that can a) generate and distribute seemingly valid false credentials that are made available to be “stolen” by criminals, b) provide an assortment of seemingly valid websites, business servers, or ecommerce sites that will apparently accept the false credentials, and c) track each use and provide trace information for use by law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute cyber offenders.

摘要: A method of managing reliance in an electronic transaction system includes a certification authority issuing a primary certificate to a subscriber and forwarding to a reliance server, information about the issued primary certificate. The reliance server maintains the forwarded information about issued primary certificate. The subscriber forms a transaction and then provides the transaction to a relying party. The transaction includes the primary certificate or a reference thereto. The relying party sends to the reliance server a request for assurance based on the transaction received from the subscriber. The reliance server determines whether to provide the requested assurance based on the information about the issued primary certificate and on the requested assurance. Based on the determining, the reliance server issues to the relying party a secondary certificate providing the assurance to the relying party.

摘要: A system for securely using digital signatures in a commercial cryptographic system that allows industry-wide security policy and authorization information to be encoded into the signatures and certificates by employing attribute certificates to enforce policy and authorization requirements. Verification of policy and authorization requirements is enforced in the system by restricting access to public keys to users who have digitally signed and agreed to follow rules of the system. These rules can also ensure that payment is made for public and private key usage. Additionally, users can impose their own rules and policy requirements on transactions in the system.

摘要: A method of unwrapping wrapped digital data that is unusable while wrapped, includes obtaining an acceptance phrase from a user; deriving a cryptographic key from the acceptance phrase; and unwrapping the package of digital data using the derived cryptographic key. The acceptance phrase is a phrase entered by a user in response to information provided to the user. The information and the acceptance phrase can be in any appropriate language. The digital data includes, alone or in combination, any of: software, a cryptographic key, an identifying certificate, an authorizing certificate, a data element or field of an identifying or authorizing certificate, a data file representing an images, data representing text, numbers, audio, and video.
