Abstract: A method includes: receiving information containing a name of a target protein associated with a disease, a name of a variant of the target protein, and a type of mutation associated with a disease; deriving, based on the information, a plurality of lists comprising: a first list containing protein names, a second list containing names of the genetic variant and protein post-translational modification type, a third list containing domain name, and a fourth list containing region name; generating search queries based on combinations of contents of the lists; gathering a plurality of text descriptions which satisfy the search queries, where the text descriptions include descriptions of relations of the target protein with other proteins; and identifying, based on processing the text descriptions, a suggested drug for treating the disease, where the suggested drug is associated with at least one of the other proteins.

Abstract: A dynamically deployable, low visibility pneumatic cofferdam for flood mitigation is disclosed. The cofferdam includes a first planar component, a second planar component, an inflatable hermetic airbag sandwiched therebetween, and connection members attached to the first planar component, a second planar component to form a cofferdam unit. The connection members are adjustable to apply and maintain a desired amount of pressure on the airbag to enable a watertight seal to be formed. The cofferdam units may be sized and designed to sealingly mate adjacent cofferdam units in a variety of configurations to form watertight seals. The cofferdam units may also be sized and designed to attach to seawalls, flood walls, sidewalks, or other infrastructure. When in a deployed state, the height of the cofferdam may be adjusted to a desired height to provide flood mitigation. When in an undeployed state, the cofferdam remains in a substantially flat and unobtrusive position.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for security patch type detection of software patches. A software patch for a software product may be received. For example, the software patch may be received by a computing device. A pre-patch code property graph and a post-patch code property graph may be determined. For example, the pre-patch code property graph and the post-patch code property graph may be determined based on the software patch and/or the pre-patch source code and the post-patch source code respectively. A combined patch code property graph may be determined. For example, the combined patch code property graph may be determined based on the pre-patch code property graph and the post-patch code property graph. A patch type for the software patch may be determined. For example, the patch type may be determined based on the combined patch code property graph and/or a machine-learning prediction model.

Abstract: A system for knowledge discovery includes a processor and a memory. The memory includes instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the system to: access a reference case of a plurality of cases; generate argumentation explaining a phenomenon of the reference case by developing a predictive model; generate a knowledge-based generalization of the argumentation; apply the argumentation to a plurality of cases similar to the reference case based on knowledge-based search and classification; split the plurality of similar cases into a plurality of favoring cases and a plurality of disfavoring cases; select a disfavoring case based on a similarity of factors; determine what factors were not taken into account in generating the argumentation; and generate a hypothesis-driven explanation theory based on comparing one or more features of the reference case to one or more features of the most disfavoring case.
