    摘要: A pressure transducer of the type which utilizes movement of pressure sensitive capsule to move the core of a linear variable differential transformer. Compensation for change in the output of the linear variable differential transformer due to temperature change is accomplished by selecting a frequency of operation to produce a minimum change in output signal in response to temperature change. The linear variable differential transformer has a core which is fixed by adhesive to a compressed bifurcated shaft along only a portion of the area of contact therebetween. The shaft is fixed to the capsule at one side thereof by adhesive, the other side of the capsule being fixed to a capsule support plate by adhesive.

    摘要: A high-voltage switch comprising a fixed jaw contact and a switch blade assembly. The fixed latch-contact element includes a contact member and a projecting latching tongue and the switch blade assembly comprises a pair of spaced, parallel switch blades adapted to pivot into and out of electrical contact with the contact member. The switch blades are biased towards each other so as to exert sufficient pressure on the contact member for high amperage operation when the switch is closed. A toggle mechanism is provided between the switch blades which, upon actuation by the movement of an operating lever, urges the opposed switch blades apart to reduce the pressure between the blades and the contact member during opening and closing. The tongue formed on the latch-contact element cooperates with the toggle mechanism which latches to it to provide positive locking between the closed switch blade assembly and the fixed latch-contact element.

    摘要: There is combined with a thermocouple unit, having a coil spring encircling and mounted on at least the front end portion thereof so the spring can be compressed forwardly while the front end of the thermocouple unit is pressed against the inner wall of a bore, a mounting cap having a longitudinally extending passageway. The mounting cap has means for attaching the same at the outer end of the bore and a retractable abutment means which is most advantageously an inwardly extending and resiliently urged member extending laterally across at least part of the mounting cap passageway and connecting with a lift handle on the outside of the mounting cap which is raised to retract the abutment to permit the thermocouple unit to be quickly and easily moved within the mounting cap passageway and pressed against the end of the bore while maintaining the spring under compression. Release of the handle unit establishes an abutment for the compressed spring upon release of the thermocouple unit, and the end of the abutment frictionally engages the thermocouple unit to inhibit relative rotational movement between the mounting cap and the thermocouple unit.

The noncorresponding current control means of the pairs of current control means of each bridge circuit are rendered nonconductive sequentially and in different combinations to produce different rectangular pulse output waveforms at the output terminals of said bridge circuit, each waveform respectively comprising positive and negative going pulses of the same amplitude relative to zero, the pulses of the different waveforms each cycle preferably being different in number and phase and of different magnitude, so the waveforms combine in both additive and subtractive relation to produce a resultant stepped sinusoidallike resultant waveform.

In a battery powered vehicle, regenerative braking down to a low speed is facilitated by a voltage boosting circuit 33 connected to the motor 4, and a shunt field 4C is connected, for braking, to the otherwise series-wound motor. The boosting circuit comprises an inductor 35 connected between the positive armature terminal and the battery via a diode 40 and switched periodically by thyristors 43, 44 and 47, 48 with a commutating capacitor 41. The thyristors are fired in alternate pairs by a circuit 45 which comprises a relaxation oscillator and bi-stable circuit (Fig. 3, not shown), the frequency of the oscillator and hence the amount of braking being adjustedby a brake pedal controlled rheostat 26. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 6, not shown) the average current through the inductor is kept constant for a given pedal setting by an operational amplifier which adjusts the frequency of the oscillator according to the volt-drop across a resistor in series with the inductor. The brake pedal also controls a rheostat 29 in the shunt field circuit and a mechanical brake 22 through a lost-motion link so that it is effective only in the final stage of braking. Change-over from driving to braking is effected by a relay K1 energized by first movement of the brake pedal. The speed of the motor during driving is controlled by a thyristor 6 having a turn off circuit 10 which comprises two pairs of auxiliary thyristors and a commutating capacitor (Fig. 4, not shown) which are fired in alternate pairs by a square-wave generator. Triggering pulses for 6 are produced by a relaxation oscillator and unijunction circuit whose operation is synchronized with the square wave generator, the firing instant and hence pulse width being controlled by an accelerator operated rheostat in the oscillator circuit. Some shunt field current is provided through resistor 5 to prevent runaway on no load.
