Abstract:
The lubricant system of the present disclosure comprises an engine oil comprising at least one additive chosen from a viscosity index improver, a dispersant, a detergent, an antioxidant, and an antiwear compound; a transmission fluid comprising at least one additive chosen from a dispersant and a pour-point depressant; and a gear oil comprising at least one additive chosen from a viscosity index improver, an extreme pressure agent, and a dispersant. There is also disclosed a method of improving fuel economy of a vehicle comprising providing to the vehicle the disclosed lubricant system.
Abstract:
A non-diluent oil process for producing a fluid sulfurized/neutralized phenate comprising:a) oligomerizing a (C.sub.6 -C.sub.20) olefin;b) alkylating the oligomerized olefin to produce a oligomerized (C.sub.6 -C.sub.20) alkyl phenol;c) neutralizing and sulfurizing the oligomerized (C.sub.6 -C.sub.20) alkyl phenol to produce a fluid neutralized/sulfurized phenate product; andd) recovering said fluid phenate product.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a lubricating oil additive which provides anti-wear properties to a lubricating oil. The additive is the reaction product of 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole and a mixture of unsaturated mono-, di-, and tri-glycerides. The present invention also provides a lubricating oil additive with anti-wear properties produced by reacting a mixture of unsaturated mono-, di-, and tri-glycerides with diethanolamine to provide an intermediate reaction product and reacting the intermediate reaction product with 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a lubricating composition comprising a first base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. ranging from about 3.5 cSt to about 6 cSt; and a second high viscosity base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. ranging from about 6 cSt to about 17 cSt.
