Abstract:
A tyre including a carcass structure includes at least one carcass ply; a belt structure applied in a radially outer position relative to the carcass structure and a tread band applied in a radially outer position relative to the carcass structure. The belt structure preferably includes at least one reinforcing strip incorporating a plurality of reinforcing elements laid substantially in the circumferential direction. The reinforcing elements preferably include at least one high-elongation metal cord. The metal cord includes a plurality of twisted strands and each strand preferably includes a central filament and a plurality of outer filaments arranged to form a single circular outer ring around the central filament, wherein the central filament has a diameter greater than the diameter of the outer filaments.
Abstract:
A tire for a vehicle wheel includes a carcass structure, a tread band extending circumferentially around the carcass structure, a belt structure circumferentially located between the carcass structure and the tread band, and at least one pair of sidewalls applied to the carcass structure in axially opposite positions. The carcass structure includes at least one carcass ply. Ends of the carcass structure are fastened to a pair of annular reinforcing elements, wherein each annular reinforcing element is incorporated in a respective bead of the tire includes at least one cord. The at least one cord includes at least one preformed metallic thread element.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire having a belt structure includes: a first belt layer; a second belt layer in a radially inner position with respect to the first belt layer, a third belt layer in a radially inner position with respect to the first and second belt layers, each belt layer including a plurality of elongated reinforcing elements disposed at a first, second and third belt angle respectively. The first and second belt angles have an absolute value of 15 to 40 degrees; the second angle is of opposite sign with respect to the first belt angle; and the third belt angle has an absolute value of 40 to 90 degrees and is of opposite sign with respect to the second belt angle. The belt structure also includes a zero degree belt layer placed in a radially outer position with repeat to the first belt layer including elongated reinforcing elements arranged such as to form a belt angle which is substantially zero.
Abstract:
A two-layer cord having a number of wires in the outer layer, enclosing, but not completely, a cord core formed by a plurality of core wires, and in which the core wires are not preformed, while at least some of the outer wires are preformed.
Abstract:
A tire includes a carcass structure including at least one carcass ply, a belt structure applied in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure and a tread band applied in a radially outer position with respect to the belt structure. The belt structure includes at least one reinforcing strip incorporating a plurality of reinforcing elements arranged substantially in the circumferential direction. The reinforcing elements include at least one high-elongation metal cord. The metal cord includes a plurality of intertwined strands and each strand includes a plurality of filaments. Advantageously all the filaments of each strand have a diameter not greater than 0.175 mm.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tyre for heavy load vehicle wheels, includes: a carcass structure, a belt structure applied in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure, and a tread band. The belt structure includes at least one reinforcing layer incorporating a plurality of reinforcing cords arranged substantially along the circumferential direction. The belt structure further comprises a first main belt layer and a second main belt layer wherein the first main belt layer includes a first plurality of metal cords inclined at a first angle and the second main belt layer includes a second plurality of metal cords inclined at a second angle. The metal cords of the first and second plurality of metal cords have a diameter not greater than 1.30 mm, and include a plurality of filaments having a diameter not greater than 0.30 mm.
Abstract:
A tyre includes a carcass structure including at least one carcass ply and a belt structure including at least one belt layer. The carcass ply includes a plurality of metallic cords. Each of the metallic cords includes a plurality of strands. Each strand of the plurality of strands includes a plurality of filaments having a diameter between 0.06 and 0.15 mm. The strands are disposed so as to form a cord structure having a cross section in which a substantially circular layer of outer strands is disposed around a central strand.
