摘要: Provided is a steel cord for rubber article reinforcement which has excellent corrosion resistance and productivity without deterioration of adhesion with rubber. A steel cord (1) for rubber article reinforcement, in which plural steel filaments (2) are twisted together, includes: a core having at least one core filament (2c); and a sheath having at least one sheath layer formed by twisting at least one sheath filament (2s) around the core. In this steel cord (1), brass plating is performed on the steel filaments (2) and zinc plating is further performed on the outer circumference of the brass plating of the core filament (2c), and the steel filaments (2) have a diameter d of 0.1 mm to 0.6 mm.

摘要: A tire includes a carcass structure including at least one carcass ply, a belt structure applied in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure and a tread band applied in a radially outer position with respect to the belt structure. The belt structure includes at least one reinforcing strip incorporating a plurality of reinforcing elements arranged substantially in the circumferential direction. The reinforcing elements include at least one high-elongation metal cord. The metal cord includes a plurality of intertwined strands and each strand includes a plurality of filaments. Advantageously all the filaments of each strand have a diameter not greater than 0.175 mm.

摘要: A method forms an adhesion joint between a cord and a rubber matrix. The method includes the steps of: providing a cord having an initial relatively smooth surface; texturing the smooth surface such that the resulting surface is rougher than the initial surface of the cord; depositing a uniform polymer coating on to the textured surface of the cord by plasma polymerization of an organic precursor and an air plasma; and inserting the cord into a rubber matrix such that the resulting surface provides enhanced adhesion to the rubber matrix compared to the adhesion of the initial surface to the rubber matrix or adhesion of the textured surface to rubber matrix.

摘要: The steel wire is made using a carbon steel wire rod material containing 0.70 to 0.75 wt % carbon and has the characteristics that its diameter is 0.10 to 0.40 mm and Y.gtoreq.-1960d+3580 �Y: tensile strength (N/mm.sup.2), d: diameter (mm)!. Furthermore, the torque decrease factor of the steel wire is less than 7% in a torsion-torque curve in a torsion-torque test wherein forward twisting and then reverse twisting are applied. A preferred steel cord has two steel wires bundled together substantially in parallel and one steel wire is wound around this bundle. This steel cord is made from steel wires having the diameter, tensile strength and toughness characteristics set forth above, and also the ratio B/A of the strength B of the twisted steel cord to the aggregate strength A of the steel wires before they are twisted together into the steel cord is 0.935 or over.

摘要: A process for manufacturing an elongated steel element for reinforcing rubber products includes forming, on an elongated steel element, a coating of a ternary or quaternary alloy of copper-M-zinc, where M is one or two metals selected from cobalt, nickel, tin, indium, manganese, iron, bismuth and molybdenum; drawing the elongated steel element in an aqueous lubricant containing a phosphorus compound and nitrate; and twisting two or more of the elongated steel elements into a steel cord. A copper content inside the coating is 58 to 75 wt %. A content of the one or two metals inside the coating is 0.5 to 10 wt %. A final reduction in a diameter of the elongated steel element occurs during the drawing step. The phosphorus compound is present on and/or in the coating in an amount of 0.3 to 1 mg/m2 of the coating, as measured via an Inductively Coupled Plasma technique.

摘要: A pneumatic commercial vehicle tire of radial design includes at least a three-ply belt, of which two belt plies are working plies and one radially outermost belt ply is a cover ply. Each of these belt plies includes reinforcements which are made of steel cord and which are embedded in elastomer. The steel cords of each of the three belt plies are coated with brass so as to provide for good elastomer adhesion. The brass coating of the reinforcement supports of the two working plies has a copper proportion of 60 wt. % to 65 wt. % and the brass coating of the reinforcement supports of the cover ply has a copper proportion of 66 wt. % to 70 wt. %.

The surface of the reinforcer is provided with nanoparticles of at least one sulfide of a metal chosen from cobalt, copper, iron, zinc and the alloys comprising at least one of these elements. Such a reinforcer can be used as the reinforcing element of a finished article made of rubber, such as a tire.
