Abstract:
A two-layer cord having a number of wires in the outer layer, enclosing, but not completely, a cord core formed by a plurality of core wires, and in which the core wires are not preformed, while at least some of the outer wires are preformed.
Abstract:
A metal cord usable for the reinforcement of rubber articles is comprised of a helically formed single wire filament having a twisting angle of 75-84.5.degree. or a bundle of two twisted metal filaments each having a twisting angle of 75-84.5.degree.. Such metal cords are preferably used as a rubber reinforcement in each part of a pneumatic tire.
Abstract:
A reinforcement cable is formed of an assembly of strands. Each strand is formed of two wires wound around each other in the same direction, with a constant pitch whose length is less than 300 mm. The two wires have linear contact with each other in the form of a helix. These helices have the same direction and the same constant pitch length. The assembly is formed of two strands of the same length of pitch and wound in opposite directions and/or it is formed of two to four strands such that the assembly has the same length of pitch and wound in the same direction as one strand and, with respect to another strand, a different length of pitch and/or wound in an opposite direction.
Abstract:
A rubber product-reinforcing metallic cord is provided which comprises three to five metallic filaments, which shows a high degree of penetration of rubber without reducing compressive rigidity, and which can be manufactured at low facility and production costs. A rubber product-reinforcing metallic cord 7 is formed by twisting together a pre-strand 6 comprising a first metallic filament 1 and a second metallic filament 2 helically wrapped around the first filament 1, and a fifth metallic filament 3 (or 5) with a twist pitch P. The metallic cord 7 may be formed by twisting together two of such pre-strands, or by twisting together two of such pre-strands and the fifth metallic filament.

Abstract:
A metal cord is formed by twisting two spirally preshaped metal filaments together with a twisting pitch P. The metal filament has not only the spiral shape formed by twisting, but retains so much of its spiral preshape as to have a pitch p equal to 0.20-0.50 times the twisting pitch and a diametric height h of 0.05-0.25 mm. The retained spiral shape is in the same rotary direction as the direction in which the filaments are twisted together.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a cable bead for a pneumatic tire which constitutes a bead part of a pneumatic tire, improves rubber permeability by restricting a ratio between a diameter of a cable and a pitch of an outer wire, and improves durability of a pneumatic tire by improving rubber adhesive properties through cobalt coating on a surface of the outer wire, and a pneumatic tire having the same, and the cable bead for a pneumatic tire is characterized in that the diameter D of the cable and a pitch P of the outer wire 20 satisfy a relationship formula, P/D=25 to 45, and further characterized in that the surface of the outer wire 20 is coated with cobalt after wire drawing.

Abstract:
A steel cord for reinforcement of rubber products composed of two material wires of a diameter of 0.25 to 0.40 mm and a carbon content of 0.75 to 0.88 wt % which are entwisted at a twist pitch of 9.0 to 16.0 mm and in open structure, with improved fatigue resistance, flexibility and corrosion resistance.
Abstract:
Multistrand metal cable of 4×(4+M) construction, which can especially be used for reinforcing tire belts for industrial vehicles, formed from four elementary strands assembled in a helix with a helix pitch P3, each elementary strand consisting of a two-layer cable of 4+M construction comprising an inner layer C1 formed from four wires of diameter D1, assembled in a helix with a pitch P1, and an unsaturated outer layer C2 of M wires, M being greater than or equal to 8 and smaller than or equal to 11, of diameter D2, these being assembled in a helix with a pitch P2 around the inner layer C1, P1 being smaller than P2, the four wires of the inner layer C1 being wound in a helix in the same twist direction as the M wires of the outer layer C2, and wherein each of the diameters D1 and D2 is greater than or equal to 0.10 mm but less than or equal to 0.50 mm.
