摘要: A multilayer ceramic structure is formed by building up a plurality of layers by sequentially coating a substrate with a series of suspensions comprising particles in a fluid medium. A composition of the sequential layers are varied to produce a structure with the desired properties. The thickness of the layers can be controlled by rheological properties of the suspension and/or by the utilization of a gelling or coagulating agent. An advantage of this method is that complete drying between the subsequent coatings is not required.

摘要: In a process and apparatus for cutting a sheet material, one or more sheets of the material are placed over a die attached to a die board. A cutting pad is placed over the sheet material. Seals are placed around or between the die board and cutting pad to create an enclosure. A vacuum is created in the enclosure or between the die board and cutting pad so as to draw the die board and cutting pad together and compress the sheets of material. The resulting assembly is passed through a roller press to cut the sheets of material. A process or apparatus for mounting dies to a die board or stripping scrap from between dies and a quick release fastener are also described.

摘要: A monolithic, multi-layer heating element forms the high temperature tip of a glow plug assembly. The heating element includes a conductive core which is surrounded by an insulator layer, which in turn supports a resistive layer. An optional conductive jacket can surround the resistive layer. These layered components are pre-formed in prior operations and then assembled one into the other to form a precursor structure. The precursor structure is transferred to a die, where it is compressed to form a so-called green part having dimensional attributes proportional to the finished heating element. The individual layers remain substantially intact, with some boundary layer mixing possible to enhance material-to-material bonding. The green part is sintered to bond to various materials together into an essentially solid mass. Various finishing operations may be required, following which the heating element is assembled to form a glow plug.

摘要: A core retainer includes a base plate releasably attached to a concrete floor from which a concrete core is to be removed. A brake assembly atop the plate includes a plurality of brake pads for contact with the interior of the core drill bit. The retainer is configured to fit within the core drill bit and either rotate with the core drill bit or be stationary relative thereto. Upon drilling, the plate and separated core fall to the floor below. This movement is translated to the brake assembly by the linkage such that the brake pads engage the core drill bit at a sufficient pressure allowing for the separated core to be retained within the core drill bit.

摘要: A pallet assembling apparatus includes a fixture into which the pallet stringers and top and bottom slats are loaded manually, and a nailing station, including opposed pairs of top and bottom nailing guns equal in number to the number of stringers loaded in the fixture, for nailing the top and bottom slats to the top and bottom surfaces of each of the stringers. The fixture is movable along rails past the nailing station, and actuating bosses equal in number to the number of top and bottom slats in the fixture project from the fixture and trip proximity switches as the fixture moves through the nailing station to cause the nailing guns to be fired in unison as each slat passes by them, and a pickup carriage, positioned downstream of the nailing station, removes completed pallets from the fixture.
