    摘要: A needle-free connector for accessing a patient's intravenous line includes a hollow body having a first end with a first opening, a second end with a second opening, and an inner wall defining a chamber. A hollow piston disposed in the chamber is axially collapsible to allow fluid to flow between the inner wall of the hollow body and the outer surface of the hollow piston. An inner surface of the hollow piston includes a fluted section having a radial array of axial slots. The fluted section has a first radial thickness configured to buckle in response to axial force applied to the hollow piston. The hollow piston further includes a retrograde-reducing stiffener. The retrograde-reducing stiffener has a second radial thickness that is greater than the first radial thickness.

    摘要: A fluid energy reducing device includes a body having multiple, oppositely directed flow restrictors extending away from opposite sides of the body. Each flow restrictor can have a geometric shape such as a pyramid, triangle, or a conical shape. Fluid such as a fuel traveling in a wave entering the flow restrictors accelerates as the flow area in a flow passage of the flow restrictors decreases. The work performed by accelerating the fluid flow through one or more apertures created in each flow restrictor reduces the energy of the wave, thereby reducing noise in the fluid tank having the fluid energy reducing device when the reduced size and velocity wave subsequently strikes tank structure or walls.

    摘要: An extrusion die includes an inner die portion having a male form. The male form has a male complex shape with peaks and a valley. An outer die portion is included having a female form. The female form has a female complex shape with peaks and a valley which corresponds to the male complex shape of the male form. The female complex shape surrounds and is separated from the male complex shape by a gap. Flowable material is capable of being extruded through the gap between the male and female complex shapes to form a hollow profile. An adjustment mechanism is included having an outer member which surrounds the outer die portion. At least eight adjustment screws are threaded through the outer member and engage the outer die portion at equidistant angular locations. This enables controlled adjustment of the female complex shape relative to the male complex shape for adjusting the gap, and for adjusting the position and orientation of the corresponding peaks and valleys of the male and female complex shapes relative to each other.

An optional accessory holder can be attached to the organizer and hold safety items such as battery jumper cables, flares, and/or first aid kits. Reflectors are provided on the organizer to improve its visibility, especially when used to warn approaching motorists of a disabled vehicle. The telescoping cross member can also be slidingly attached to the end supports to further allow adjustability in the fore and aft directions.

    摘要: In a co-extrusion system, a primary extruder is connected to a primary flow director to direct the solid melt from the primary extruder to the co-extrusion assembly. A secondary extruder is connected to a secondary flow director to direct the melt from the secondary extruder to the co-extrusion assembly. A co-extrusion assembly produces simultaneous co-extruded melts without any significant pressure change in the melt. Dies shape the co-extruded melts to a desired shape.
