    摘要: An electrical connector detachably fitted with a mating connector includes a plurality of contacts, a housing arranging and holding the contacts therein and having guide portions for guiding the mating connector, and fixtures to be fixed to a substrate. The fixtures are made of a metal and each include the guide portion in the form of a substantially U-shape integrally formed therewith. A free end of the guide portion is provided on each of its both sides with an extending piece downwardly extending and adapted to be inserted into an inserting groove of the housing. The housing is provided with the inserting grooves at locations corresponding to the extending pieces for inserting the extending pieces, respectively, and is provided with slits, one at each of its longitudinal ends, to form holding portions having elasticity, thereby holding the guide portions of the fixtures therein. The guide portions of the electrical connector are not damaged even if being subjected to unexpected strong forces from the mating connector.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes an elastomer in the form of a layer, and a plurality of fine conductive wires embedded in the elastomer and extending rectilinearly in vertical directions to front and rear surfaces of the elastomer. The fine conductive wires have an overall length substantially the same as or slightly larger than the thickness of the elastomer so that both the ends of the fine conductive wires extend from the front and rear surfaces of the elastomer. The electrical connector includes a flexible printed circuit board connected to the fine conductive wires. The flexible printed circuit board includes at least three electric contacts arranged substantially concentrically around and electrically connected to each of the fine conductive wires. With this arrangement, the electrical connector enables a stable inspection for integrated circuit pads in a manner which minimizes irregularities in repeatedly measured values of electric resistance and skew.

    摘要: An electrical connector to be detachably fitted with a mating connector, including a plurality of contacts, a housing for arranging and holding the contacts, and a shell covering the housing and forming with the housing a fitting opening for the mating connector. The shell has at least one engaging piece, and the housing has an anchoring portion at a location corresponding to the engaging piece to cause the anchoring portion to engage the engaging piece, thereby restraining the housing from being displaced in the direction opposite to the fitting direction upon fitting with the mating connector. Even being miniaturized, the electrical connector is securely positioned relative to the mating connector when fitting with it, and the housing is securely prevented from being displaced upon the mating connector abutting against the housing, thereby completely preventing any defective connection.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts to be connected to a cable, a housing for arranging and holding the contacts, a shell dividable into two shells covering the housing and having a holding device for holding the cable, and an insulating member covering the shell. One of the shells is provided with anchoring portions and the other shell is provided with engaging portions so that when both the shells are fitted with each other, the anchoring portions and the engaging portions are engaged with each other to bring both the shells into electrical continuity with each other. Therefore, the shells can be securely held together to achieve reliable electrical continuity between the shells, and at the same time grounding between the cable and the shell and between the shells themselves can be achieved.

    摘要: A connector includes a plurality of contacts, an insulator for arranging and holding the contacts, and a nut for securing the connector to a substrate or panel. The insulator is provided at a predetermined position with a flange which is formed with an inserting portion for accommodating the nut, and at the inserting portion at least two elastic pieces are arranged which are elastically deformable and adapted to engage the nut. The nut holding structure thus constructed for the connector is able to securely hold the nut with the simple construction without any fracture of the insulator.

    摘要: A multiconductor connector for high-speed transmission signal for connecting a plurality of paired cables includes an insulator plate having signal contacts on its upper and lower surfaces. The signal contacts are arranged in a row on each of the upper and lower surfaces to form pairs of the two signal contacts aligned with each other above and below across the insulator plate. The insulator plate has a thickness so determined that when a pair of terminal of each of the paired cables are exposed at their one ends by removing their insulating coverings and then fitted on the insulator plate without changing the initial spacing between the pair of terminals in a manner embracing the insulator plate by the pair of terminals on the upper and lower surfaces, the pair of terminals are electrically connected to a pair of the signal contacts on the upper and lower surfaces of the insulator plate. With this arrangement, good impedance characteristics at the one ends of the paired cables can be maintained.

    摘要: A surface mounting method for mounting an electronic part having a great number of contacts onto a circuit board. A jig provided with dummy contacts is prepared whose size, number and arrangement are substantially the same as those of contacts of an electronic part to be mounted on a circuit board. The dummy contacts of the jig are then fitted with mating contacts which are to be fitted with the contacts of the electronic part. Thereafter, the jig provided with the dummy contacts fitted with the mating contacts is mounted onto the circuit board at a predetermined position thereon. The mating contacts are then mounted and fixed onto the circuit board. The jig is then removed from the circuit board. The contacts of the electronic part are then fitted with the mating contacts fixed to the circuit board. As an alternative, double ended socket contact members are prepared, each having socket contacts on both ends. Pin contacts of a circuit board are fitted in the socket contacts of the double ended socket contact members on their one ends and then pin contacts of an electronic part are fitted in the socket contacts of the members on their other ends.
