Abstract:
When a skip operation is carried out and then another skip operation is carried out next, it is determined whether or not a direction of a first skip operation and a direction of a skip operation carried out next are opposite directions. If the direction of the skip operation carried out next is the opposite to the direction up to that point in time and there is a change point between scenes in a skip segment of the skip operation carried out next, skip processing is carried out such that the playback position is placed to the change point of this scene. Thereby, for example, when the content is played back after jumping past a CM, the boundary between the CM and program can be easily found, and the replay can be started.

A hybrid optical element includes: a glass substrate having a first optically functional surface and a second optically functional surface; and a resin layer bonded to the second optically functional surface. The glass substrate further has an outer peripheral surface provided around the first optically functional surface. The outer peripheral surface has a surface roughness Ra of at least 1 μm but not more than 20 μm.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composite lens and a method for manufacturing the same, particularly to a composite lens in which a second lens component is coupled to a first lens component at part of a first surface, and intends to improve optical characteristics. A composite lens (1) has a first lens component (10) and a second lens component (20). The first lens component (10) has a first surface including a first lens surface (13), a peripheral surface (15a) surrounding the first lens surface (13) and a ring surface (17a) included in the peripheral surface (15a) and surrounding the first lens surface (13), and a second lens surface (12) on the opposite side of the first lens surface (13). The second lens component (20) is coupled to the first lens component (10) at part of the first surface surrounded by the ring surface (17a). The ring surface (17a) is positioned on a portion of the first lens component protruding from a joint portion (14) between the first lens surface (13) and the peripheral surface (15a) in a first direction from the second lens surface (20) to the first lens surface (10) along an optical axis of the first lens component (10) and is exposed out of the second lens component (20).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing an alcohol from a lactone or a carboxylic acid ester, which enables to produce an alcohol from a lactone or a carboxylic acid ester under relatively mild conditions with high yield and high catalytic efficiency. This method also enables to produce an optically active alcohol from an optically active lactone or an optically active carboxylic acid ester. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an alcohol by hydrogen reducing a lactone or a carboxylic acid ester in the presence of a catalyst containing ruthenium and a phosphine compound represented by the following general formula (1): wherein R1 represents a spacer; R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; and R8, R9, R10, R11, R12 and R13 independently represent an alkyl group having 1-12 carbon atoms, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group.

Abstract:
A wet paper web transfer belt comprises a base body 30, a paper side layer 20, and a machine side layer 23. The paper side layer 20 is composed of a paper contacting side batt layer 21 made of hydrophilic fibers 41 and a base bode side batt layer 22 without the hydrophilic fibers 41, at least the paper contacting side batt layer 21 being impregnated with a high molecular weight elastic body 50 and at least a part of the hydrophilic fibers 41 being exposed on the surface of the paper contacting side batt layer 21. The water contained in the wet paper web remains within the paper contacting side batt layer 21 made of the hydrophilic fibers 41 with only a small amount of water moving into the base body side batt layer 22, thereby reducing dimensional changes of the belt. Further, since the water contained in the wet paper web remains within the hydrophilic fibers 41 exposed on the surface of the paper side layer 20, the belt is capable of transferring the wet paper web attached thereon while allowing smooth detachment when transferring it to the next process.

Abstract:
A video information processing apparatus capable of accurately making a motion decision is provided. The apparatus stores interlaced video information for a plurality of fields, generates motion information on each of the pixels contained in a plurality of fields from at least one of the interlaced video information and stored video information, and generates motion information on an interpolation pixel from motion information on pixels contained in the same field as the interpolation pixel among the generated motion information on each of the pixels. The apparatus also generates motion information on the interpolation pixel from motion information on the pixels contained in fields previous and next to the interpolation pixel at the same position as the interpolation pixel, and determines the motion information on the interpolation pixel from the motion information on these pixels.
