    摘要: A fuel injection valve includes a valve body having a valve seat, a valve element adapted to sit on and leave a valve seat, a nozzle hole for the injection of fuel, and an electromagnetic drive section. A holding member surrounds and holds, on one end side thereof, at least a partial area of an opposite-to-nozzle-hole-side end face portion of the valve element. The holding member surrounds and holds, on an opposite end side thereof, a predetermined surface area of a constant position holding portion without being influenced by the pressure of fuel flowing through a fuel passage of the valve body and irrespective of movement of the valve element. An internal area of the holding member is shut off so as not to be influenced by the pressure of fuel present around the internal area.

    摘要: An injector has an orifice plate formed with plural orifices. At a radially outward position of the orifice plate is disposed a wall at least partially. It is preferable that the wall be disposed at a lower position in the direction of gravity. In the wall is formed a guide hole toward an area on the orifice plate where a strong negative pressure is developed. A portion of fuel injected from the injector adheres as adhered fuel to the orifice plate or the wall. Under the action of a negative pressure on the orifice plate the guide hole sucks in the adhered fuel and returns it onto the surface of the orifice plate. The adhered fuel flows from the wall onto the surface of the orifice plate and again joins a fuel jet injected from the orifices. By utilizing a negative pressure developed near the plural orifices, the adhered fuel can be recovered and again injected. Consequently, it is possible to decrease the amount of adhered fuel.

    摘要: A fuel pump for an internal combustion engine that transmits fuel with pressure by a lifting movement of a plunger that is caused to lift by a movement of a cam includes a lift amount changing mechanism. The lift amount changing mechanism includes a cam in which a height of a projection is varied along an axial direction of the camshaft, and a cam moving actuator that moves the cam along the axial direction of the camshaft. The lift amount of the plunger is changed by moving the cam along the axial direction of the camshaft. An amount of discharged fuel is controlled by changing the amount of discharged fuel per stroke of the plunger and is not determined only based upon the rotation speed of the engine. Therefore, the amount of discharged fuel can be increased with the engine rotated at a low speed, for example when the engine is being initially started, to improve a starting performance.

The control circuit performs a step of calculating an air-fuel ratio variation D(A/F) with respect to an optimum air-fuel ratio based on the ratio of a change .DELTA.F, of an air-fuel ratio correction signal F during acceleration under air-fuel ratio feedback control based on a signal from the air-fuel ratio sensor, to an acceleration amount A, and a step of controlling a transient fuel correction ratio f(AEW) based on the obtained air-fuel ratio variation D(A/F).

    摘要: A torque detector, for detecting a torque applied to a torque transmission shaft which is connected to a load of an automobile, comprises an elastic member which is interposed between a driving shaft and the torque transmission shaft so as to be connected thereto, rotating members, each of which is integrally provided with the shafts, have a plurality of teeth or notches in the outer periphery thereof so as to be positioned in each combustion stroke of each piston of an engine of the automobile, electromagnetic pickups for detecting the passing of the teeth or notches and a data processing circuit for calculating torque at a predetermined rotating angle from the angular phase difference between the above two shafts, the torque occurring due to the deformation of the elastic member caused by the increase or decrease of applied torque. The processing means adds the calculated torque in each combustion stroke of each piston and averages the added torque.

    摘要: A valve body surrounds a first passage connecting with a cylinder of an engine. A valve member is adapted to be seated on and lifted from the valve seat. An injector body connects with the valve body. The injector body has a pressure control chamber for controlling hydraulic pressure applied to the valve member thereby controlling a lift of the valve member. The injector body has a second passage through which fuel in the pressure control chamber is exhausted. An actuator is adapted to communicating the pressure control chamber with the first passage through the second passage and blocking the pressure control chamber from the first passage. The first passage introduces fuel from the pressure control chamber into the cylinder through the second passage.

    摘要: There is provided a fuel injection valve in which nozzle holes are formed on a metering plate and fuel flowing on a face of the metering plate on the upstream side is injected outside of a face of the metering plate on the downstream side through the nozzle holes. The fuel injection valve includes a vortex flow generator means for changing a flow of fuel passing in each nozzle hole into a vortex flow, wherein the vortex flow generator means is provided on the upstream side of the metering plate. The vortex flow means is a vortex flow generator groove provided on an upper face of the metering plate and connected with a wall face of an entrance of the nozzle hole, and a main stream of fuel flowing in the groove is directed to a position shifted from the center of the nozzle hole. Alternatively, the vortex flow means is a protrusion formed on an upper face of the metering plate. A flow of fuel is changed into a vortex flow in the nozzle hole and injected from the nozzle hole. Therefore, fuel can be excellently atomized and diffused as a megaphone-shape without being formed into a liquid column spray.

    摘要: A system for controlling the air-fuel ratio in an internal combustion engine provided with a fuel injector. The system has an O.sub.2 sensor for issuing signals on two levels, one corresponding to a high air-fuel ratio, the other to a low air-fuel ratio, and a feedback control device responsive to the signal from the sensor. The feedback control calculates a correction factor for maintaining the air-fuel ratio to a desired value during steady operation and for indicating the deviation in the ratio from the desired value during transient conditions. This deviation is employed to generate a transient correction value which is selected to minimize the deviation during transient conditions.
