    摘要: A fuel injector for internal combustion engines is provided, which has a valve seat member, bordering a valve chamber, having a valve seat and spray orifices and a central blind-end bore as well as a valve member that is able to be driven to cause a lift motion having a closing head, which, together with a valve seat, forms a sealing seat lying upstream of the spray orifices. In order to prevent an underpressure developing in the blind-end bore in the closing phase of the sealing seat, and a partial return flow of the fuel connected with it, the closing head of the valve member is provided, at its end face facing towards the valve seat member, with a plunger sticking out from closing head, which has a shape adjusted to the contour of the blind-end bore, and dips into the blind-end bore when the sealing seat is closed.

    摘要: A fuel injector (10) has an inlet (12), an outlet (14), and a passageway (16) providing a fuel flow conduit from the inlet to the outlet. A valve structure (22, 24) is movable in the passageway between first and second positions. A seat (26) is provided at the outlet and has at least one seat passage (28) in communication with the passageway. Movement of the valve structure between the first and second positions controls the flow of fuel through the seat passages. The seat includes an outer tip surface (30) through which the least one seat passage extends. A catalytic coating (32) is provided on at least a portion of the outer tip surface. The coating causes oxidation of fuel on the coating to occur at a temperature lower than if the coating was not provided.

The member has an inlet to receive air from an air source, and is formed with a passageway to guide the received air to at least one outlet to direct the air to a nozzle of the injector. The air flow surrounds the nozzle to prevent or inhibit exhaust gas from the exhaust conduit from contacting the nozzle.

    摘要: The present invention provides a fuel additive composition comprising (a) an alkoxylate detergent, (b) a fatty acid or derivative thereof, or mixtures thereof wherein the additive composition is soluble in the fuel where the fuel is a blend of hydrocarbonaceous and nonhydrocarbonaceous fuel with a nonhydrocarbonaceous fuel content of at least 50 percent by weight. Additionally, the present invention further provides for a fuel composition comprising such a additive composition and such a fuel. The present invention also provides for a method of operating an engine and a method of reducing deposits in a fuel system by using such an additive composition and fuel blend.

    摘要: An injection control unit of a fuel is provided, which prevents generation of a nozzle deposit of a fuel injector. In a control unit of a fuel injector capable of controlling a lift height that is a distance between a valve body and a valve seat, after start of fuel injection and before end of the fuel injection, after the lift height is controlled to a first height, a period in which the lift height is controlled to a second height which is lower than the first height is provided for a predetermined period. According to such a configuration, when the lift height of the valve body is lowered to the second height after the fuel is injected at the first height, a fuel velocity in the vicinity of an inner wall of an injection port is increased due to an inertial force of the fuel and reduction in an opening area. By a fuel flow at a high velocity, a contamination substance adhering to a wall surface is washed away.

    摘要: A method of substantially removing, or reducing the occurrence of, injector deposits in a diesel engine operated using a diesel fuel containing a minor amount of a metal-containing species is disclosed. The method includes adding to a diesel fuel the reaction product between a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic acid or anhydride and hydrazine. The diesel engine is equipped with fuel injectors having a plurality of spray-holes, each spray-hole having an inlet and an outlet, and the fuel injectors have one or more of the following characteristics: (i) spray-holes which are tapered such that the inlet diameter of the spray-holes is greater than the outlet diameter; (ii) spray-holes having an outlet diameter of 0.10 mm or less; (iii) spray-holes where an inner edge of the inlet is rounded; (iv) 6 or more spray-holes; (v) an operating tip temperature in excess of 250° C.
