Abstract: A method for providing energy from waste heat from an electrolysis process to one or more commercial or industrial operations is provided. The method includes the steps of converting water to oxygen and a hydrogen product through an electrolysis process, wherein the hydrogen product has a carbon intensity less than about 0.45 kg CO2e/kg H2, and wherein at least some of the required energy for the electrolysis process is provided from a biomass power plant. The method further includes recovering waste heat from the electrolysis process, and then converting at least some of the waste heat to thermal energy for use in the one or more commercial or industrial operations. Examples of commercial and industrial operations includes, without limitation, greenhouses, algae farms, district cooling, and district heating.

Abstract: A method for providing cold energy to one or more industrial or commercial facilities from a liquid carbon dioxide receiving facility is provided. The method includes the steps of unloading liquid carbon dioxide to the receiving facility, storing liquid carbon dioxide in temporary storage, generating boil-off gas from the temporary storage due to heat ingress, pumping and heating liquid carbon dioxide for external use or permanent geologic storage, and utilizing at least some, and preferably substantially all, of the cold energy from the liquid carbon dioxide for cooling one or more processes in the one or more industrial or commercial facilities.

Abstract: A method for operating a data center with a carbon usage effectiveness less than 0.1 kg CO2e/kWh is provided. Abstract: Methods for the beneficial use of waste heat in commercial or industrial operations are provided. The method includes generating power by combusting hydrogen in a gas turbine or through an electrochemical process using hydrogen in a fuel cell, recovering waste heat from the gas turbine exhaust in a heat recovery steam generator, and utilizing the waste heat in one or more commercial or industrial operations. The hydrogen has a carbon intensity preferably less than about 1.0 kg CO2e/kg H2 and may be produced by reforming a hydrocarbon feedstock or by electrolysis of water, wherein at least some of the required energy for the hydrogen production process is provided by a biomass power plant with carbon capture.

The method further comprises the step of providing at least some, and preferably substantially all of the required energy for the commercial or industrial operations from the biomass power plant.
